Independent Sitter

Your baby is now able to sit up on her own. She/he may be communicating with sounds and gestures. It may be time to introduce more variety into your baby's diet or discuss starting solids with your doctor, if you haven't already.

Your baby responds to his/her own name, and begins to understand words like "no", "mom", "dad". Frequent giggles, purposely interacts with Mom and Dad, learns cause and effect by dropping and banging objects.

Your baby should sit well without support, rolls back to front, and transfers object from one hand to another. YOur baby is probably at the point where he/she is trying to talk. It is also at the time where you can put your baby in the BIG tub, so to speak. You also sould start brushing your little one's gums and teeth. Its best to start cleaning there gums before teeth come in cause it makes teething a lot easier.
