This is thier current tank set-up, I moved them all into a larger tank as the pups will soon be moving around more. They started to open thier eyes yesterday. I took these photos on the 25th.
This is one of the darker greys going back into the nest after trying to follow mom out (before eyes had opened) they surtly have a good since of smell!! Naja is off to the side about to go in, she seems to be nursing some too which is likely why all 10 babies are fat and healthy looking!!
Here is a group of the lighter grey pups, they don't sho too well in the photo but the darker grey ones are not quite black but almost, some have balckish muzzles and some don't. These 3 pops out of the nest when Jana left as they where still hanging on and didn't want to let go!! They spend most of thier time inside the nest where I can't see them, unlike Oraoro the foster mouse who had an open air nest. [left] this is a darker grey, the muzzle isn't too dark on her though.
[right] The little beigh male wondering out of the nest! [right] cute little mouse pup face, I think it's the beigh male, and a light grey in the background!! This was taken the day before thier eyes opened.
This is Versa and Patch, two foster mice. Vise, Versa, Patch and Sugar are all going to live in Toronto!!
Patch and Versa took to eachother right away, they are now cagemates along with Sugar and groom eachother, sleep together and all!! They have become very close in a short time. Sugar is 5 weeks old, Patch is 8-9 weeks old and Versa is about 6 or so months old.
Here is Sugar, a 5 week old PEW pup and Versa meeting for the first time, Versa took to her right away and now they and Patch will be cagemates. They are going to Toronto to thier new home shortly and will be leaving to another foster home this Sat.
Here is Versa, a longhaired satin siamese seal point fox mouse.. and her brother who lives alone, Visa a longhaired satin red mouse. They are the brother and sister of Jana and Naja and are also being adopted to a friend of mine in Toronto. Aren't they cute? Visa wasn't very photogenic that day unfortunitaly!! He's all red unlike Naja who has a white streak. One of my co-workers about 2 reds, one had white and one is a self, Blaze had 9 live babies who I will be meeting sometime next week to help her tell what gender they are! Most of Jana and Naja's other sisters and brother where adopted as well. Reena came from a different tank and most of here siblings where also adopted.
June 19 I cleaned out Jana's tank yesterday and took a quick peek at her pinkies, she had 11-12 of them!! PINKIE EXPLOSION!!! 3 are very small and I am not sure they will make it, with such a large litter I assume some won't surrive but we'll see whan the time comes. [right] Jana having a well deserved meal after nursing tons of little newborn pinkies, Naja can be seen in the background to the left of the pinkies nest. [left] Naja heading back to the pinkies nest after having a bite to eat, she is acting as nurse and taking care of pinkies when Jana is taking a rest or having some food/water.
[left] Jana and Naja have a snack, it's very hard work with you have 11-12 little ones to look after!! This is there temporary tank, when the foster mice go for adoption onthe 4th of July they'll be moving into a bigger tank with thier pinkies to have more room to raise them. [right] heading back to the kids.. Jana is a very good mommy mouse!! she certianaly is eating for 12!!
My little Meeka was very very very depressed, she was sleeping alot and was barbering her fur to the point she had bald patches, she missed having her "sisters" Nya and Spaz soooo much!! We spent some of yesterday doing and introduction with Reena as she is not due for a long while to have any babies and so far they are getting alone and no fighting, lookes like they'll be friends!! Meeka is already more active them she was before!!!
Meeka and Reena becomeing cagemates, the day after first introduction. [left]Meeka and Reena together at last!! [right] see how Reena's ears a pulled tight together in an alert expression?? She is a big bigger, loves to build nest and super social mouse, she is very friendly and very much like her cousin Nya was (we discovered that 2 of Nya relatives had been sold to the lady in Kanata and Reena happens to be one of the offspring of that pair..) Meeka is busy with her nesting box in the background
[left] Reena renovating the nest for her and Meeka to sleep in, she is a busy bee!!!
[right] Reena having a snack, she loves to dig everything out of the bowl and make a huge mess... sigh!! Just like her cousin Nya!
June 16June 16 Naja had her babies early this week but none where alive, so she has none now, she is settling in well but had an eye infection for which she is on medication and doing very well. Yesterday (June 15th) Jana had pinkies and so far they seem to be doing ok, I have not looked at them as I can hear them squeeking and both Mom Jana and Aunt Naja look well. I will check them once Jana is a bit more settled in about 5 days when I refreash thier home! Right now Naja and Jana (with pinkies) live together but later will join Meeka and Reena in a 33 gallon tank. I will update how they are doing when I know more. See my Foster mouse page to find out about Oroaro, Patch, Moca and thier pups who are almost ready for adoption.
Naja and Jana are sisters, they lived with about 11 other mice originaly in a crowded cage and where destined to be used for either feeders or having litter after litter to be used as feeders. Now they are pets, Naja is a little nervous but taming nicely, I have yet to work with Jana since she was very pregnant and now has babies, but she has shown herself to be a friendly mouse as well.
Reena is a himalayan seal point mouse, she is just in the early stages of pregnancy and is not due for some time, which is good as I will have time to look after Jana's pups! Reena came from a cage with about 14 other mice from the same place as Naja and Jana. They meet briefly but being pregnant Reena did not wish to be friends at this time, for right now they all have ther own tanks -Reena alone, Jana, pups and Naja in another and Meeka in her home alone for now. Reena is very tame and easy to handle, she is making a very nice pet mouse already!!
See my Foster mouse page to find out about Oroaro, Patch, Moca and thier pups who are almost ready for adoption.

Lunch (white and grey), Dinner (cream with red eyes) and Snack (silver) Recently I been looking up the proper color names: BROKEN MARKED: Lilac/white, SELF: Ivory (red eyes), SELF: Lilac (or Dove)
Some time back.. a 1-2 years now I guess, someone brought us 13 "STRAY" mice, mixed males and females and of age to breed. All female mice went to someone to care for as I was worried about them.. I even took out an add to find them homes.. and well 3 came home as "foster mice", the mother and 2 daughters (the male mice went up for adoptions and all DID get adopted).
Lunch, Dinner and Snack.. it was kind of a joke because we have cats... they lived in a modifided safarie cage by hagen. After having them for a long time, it was clean none where pregnant.. but they became members of the family (I didn't have my digital then)
As a child I also looked after and released injured wild field mice, although they where never considered pets.
