Reflection
The artifacts above are reflective of the involvement and attitude that I have with regard to instructional technology.   The contents of my resume shows that I have diverse and active interests in many areas of education.  I am proactive about both my professional development and commitment. Throughout my career, I have been blessed with mentors who have modeled this, and shared their expertise with me, and I have a deep desire to "give back in kind" to my collegial community.  Effective leadership involves a good bit of cheerleading, and co-chairing a fledgling tech committee at my former site, and now working in a position in which I have contact with hundreds of teachers (via email, website, phone and in-person encounters) has only further cemented this idea for me.  People generally respond to being noticed, appreciated, and encouraged.  This may be doubly true with regard to making strides in the area of technology use.  Our district employs teachers with a wide range of experiences and attitudes about technology, and our classrooms do not at all have equitable access to the necessary infrastructure to make positive gains in this area.   Recent training and research have put me in a positive mindset to do my part in helping more teachers move forward in their awareness and practice.  The professional development introduction and demonstration lesson are one avenue.  Another is simply encouraging teachers to make use of the means they already have to stay informed by making the Monitoring and Assessment website appealing and fun.  I have had an encouraging response to the light-hearted challenge on the site for readers to email me that they visited the website for an opportunity to be in a drawing for "something fun."  I plan to update the site regularly and to change the Challenge every month.  My goal is to increase the readership incrementally!  Finally, the district survey was an attempt to let colleagues know that their thoughts and experiences have value and are noticed.  I hope that the information we gained from it will allow our district to make wise decisions with regard to support, hardware and staff development expenditures, in particular.
