Episode Descriptions

#1 The Pilot

Eric and Donna: best friends and neighbors since birth. Eric gets the Vista Cruiser and the whole gang decides to go to a concert together. Before they leave, Eric and Donna are sitting alone at the bottom of the Eric's basement's staircase. Eric: "You know, my sister thinks that we...shouldn't be left alone." Donna: "Huh?...We're alone now." Eric: "Well...yeah..." Donna: "Eric, relax. We've lived next door to each other forever. You could have had me when I was 4." Eric: "Really? And there I was all day long on the hipitty-hop...stupid, stupid, stupid." After the concert...Eric and Donna's first kiss! Donna kisses Eric at the end of the episode when Eric is laying on his car. Eric: "Why'd you do that?" Donna: "I wanted to see what it was like." Eric: "What was it like?" Donna: "You were there." And so begins the cutest couple of TV!

#2 Eric's Birthday

Donna is nervous about what to get Eric for his birthday because of their new relationship. She takes advice from Jackie, "Oh my god, he kissed you!" and gets him a scented candle..."practical and romantic". At the end of the episode Donna gives him the candle and he thinks it's "cool"; they almost kiss but Eric's parents come home and interrupt.

#3 Streaking

Gerald Ford comes to Point Place when he is running for president and gives a speech. The guys decide they are going to streak, but chicken out at the last minute. But, when Red starts to fumble and freeze when asking Ford a question, Eric decides to streak to draw attention away. Nothing really happens between Donna and Eric romantically in this episode. Donna saw "a little bit" of Eric naked when he streaked. Donna says that she saw him naked before when they were really little and Eric used to run around the neighborhood naked shouting, "wee, wee, pee, pee".

#4 Battle of the Sexists

Eric is really insecure in this episode about losing to Donna at basketball. Donna: "I just wiped the floor with you from one end to the other!" Donna: "Hey Eric, don't you want your balls back" Donna gets unsolicited advice from her mom and Jackie on the situation. Jackie: "If Maria had beat Tony at one on one, they never would have fallen in love." Donna: "Yeah and Tony would never have been killed in that knife fight" "Me and Eric have been playing games all are life. And sometimes he wins and sometimes I win." Later Donna plays air hockey with Eric. Eric: "Woah! There's no way you could have stopped that; it was going so fast you couldn't even see it." Donna: "I saw that!" Donna beats Eric and he imagines himself wearing a dress. Then Donna decides to lose to Eric at basketball on purpose. Eric: "Yeah...being pitied is so much better." Donna: "Don't get mad." Eric: "I'm not mad. Now please leave my property." While smoking pot, the guys make fun of Eric because Donna is beating him. Kelso: "Woah...Donna beat you at basketball?" Fez: "Is this true Eric?" Eric: "Yeah, is that a big deal?" Hyde: "No, of course not...unless Donna happens to be you know a girl!" Kelso: "Especially a girl that you love!" Fez: "You know in my country if a woman beats you that means she wants you." Eric: "Oh, really." Fez: "Yes, but this is America, wuss." Donna comes back later and they apologize to each other and decide to be friends but to not play games any more. Donna: "Hey, remember that time in 4th grade I made you eat dirt? That was fun...Screw it, let's just play" While they are playing basketball Eric steals the ball from Donna, but then she jumps on his back and wrestles him to the ground to try and get the ball. Eric: "Okay...fowl!" Donna: "Oh, now suddenly we're calling every little thing?" Then they start wrestling on the ground some more and Donna starts to reach for a clump of dirt. Donna's dad calls and she leaves. Great romantic tension!

#5 Eric's Burger Job

Donna throws a party when her parents are out of town because she wants to be alone with Eric. Eric gets a job at Fatso Burger and has to work a lot. So, he doesn't get to see Donna that much and he can't go to her party. In the end, he quits his job because he wants to spend more time with Donna and his friends. Hyde teases Donna about liking "the scrawny little neighbor boy" Eric and gives her some advice.

#6 The Keg

Eric feels the need to try and impress Donna throughout this episode. He starts to act rebellious with the gang. At the beginning Donna convinces him to skip study hall with her; they find a keg on the drive home in the Vista Cruiser. When the gang decides to have a party with the keg in an empty pool at Kelso and Jackie's "secret makeout place", Eric has to steal his dad's tap after the tap for the keg Kelso brought is broken. Hyde: "Come on man, we never ask you for anything." Eric: "Wait a minute...you guys ask me for everything!" Kelso: "So what's one more thing?" When Eric returns, he valiantly jumps down into the pool by grabbing a hose and propelling himself down the side (impressive!). But, sadly, Red has found them out and is down there waiting for him along with Donna and her dad. Eric: "I stole the tap (sees Red)...back from those thieves". Back at Eric's driveway, Donna gives Eric a kiss for his trying so hard all day to impress her.

#7 That Disco Episode

At the start of the episode, the gang is in the basement playing cards. Jackie says there is a new disco in Kenosha and the gang decides to go. Jackie and Kelso go upstairs to make popcorn and Donna looks at Kelso's cards. Then Eric decides to go upstairs and starts joking with Donna about his cards. Eric: "Hey Donna, why don't you take a little look at my cards that way you won't have to wait for me to leave. Tell me what I have, you cheater." Donna: "You got nothing". Eric: "Yea I'm gonna bluff so watch out." Eric leaves. Fez: "Donna has stuff for Eric, yes? Hyde: "Not stuff, thing. Donna has a thing for Eric...Why do you have a thing for Eric?" Donna: "Well, he doesn't ask me stupid questions, he's smart and you know." Hyde: "No I don't know." Fez raises his hand. Fez: "I know. It is because Eric is noble and a woman wants her first lovemaking to be in the arms of a man she can trust." Donna: "Fez." Fez: "Yes?" Donna: "Go make popcorn." At the disco, Hyde asks Donna to dance and says he wants to kiss her. Hyde: "Donna, I feel like I want to kiss you". Donna: "Shut up and dance". After they get back, Hyde agrees with Fez that he did a bad thing by trying to kiss Donna because Eric is his friend. Eric and Donna are talking in Eric's driveway. Eric: "Hyde dancing, what a surprise." Donna: "Yeah, who knew?" Eric: "You looked like you were having a good time." Donna: "Well you know disco fever you catch it but I'm better now." Eric: "Did you see Kelso's shoes? " Donna: "Yeah, remember when he saw that girl wearing the same shoes." Eric: "Yeah, actually that was pretty sad." Donna: "Yeah." Eric: "Do you recall that night we crossed the Rio Grande?" Donna: "What?" Eric: "I can see it in your eyes. Donna: "What are you talking about?" Eric: sings "How proud you were to fight for freedom in this land." Donna: "Shut up, don't, don't" Eric: sings "There was something in the air that night, the stars were bright, Fernando!" Donna covers Eric's mouth. Eric: "Sorry. I hate dance music." Donna: "Why'd you go?" Eric: "I like...you." Donna: "So you're in like with me?" Eric: "Donna...I'm..." Eric kisses Donna. Eric: "I can't dance." Donna: "You'll learn. (sings) There was something in the air that night..." Eric: "Donna, I really want to kiss you again." Donna: " Shut up and dance." Then, Eric and Donna start dancing to "Fernando" and the scene fades. Eric&Donna are so cute!

#8 The Drive-In

Kelso convinces Eric to take Donna to the drive-in to see "The Omen" because it's "makeout city". Eric: So Donna I was thinking we ought to go see a movie tonight. Donna: "Oh cool I'd love to see 'All the President's Men'." Eric: "Oh...well I actually hear that's not very good." Donna: "Oh." Eric: "Yeah. Hey, I was thinking maybe 'The Omen'." Donna: "Isn't that at the drive-in?" Eric: "Is that?....Well yes, I guess it is. So, do you want to go?" Donna: "Tonight ...umm...sure." Donna is nervous about going with Eric, so once again she is forced to ask Jackie for advice. Donna convinces Jackie to come with Kelso so she can talk to her. At the drive-in, Eric and Donna decide to sit on the hood of the car after Kelso and Jackie won't stop making out in the back seat. Eric: "You know the stars are really- forget it." Donna: "What?" Eric: "Nothing." Eric: "Well, Jackie and Kelso are making themselves comfortable." Donna: "Yeah, it's quite a roomy car." Eric: "Yeah, it is. You know the bench seat in the Vista Cruiser." Eric gets on top of Donna and they begin to makeout. Eric: "But that's nothing compared to the fullset body instrument." Donna: "Wow that's interesting." They continue to makeout and begin to roll around on the car and Donna falls off the side! Woah! Donna and Eric are getting kinda physical.

#9 Thanksgiving

When Laurie brings her friend Kate home with her for Thanksgiving, she flirts with Eric, who is obviously attracted to her. Eric ends up french kissing her on his bed that night. (What a dumbass!) Eric immediately feels guilty and tells Donna. Donna is very upset. Eric: "I kissed a girl!" Donna: "You what?" Eric: "You know that friend my sister brought home from college?" Donna: "The slutty one?" Eric: "Yeah...I kissed her." Donna: "Why are you telling me this?" Eric: "Because I feel guilty because it was like really kissing." Donna: "So what we do isn't really kissing?" Eric: "I thought you should know considering that you and I have a thing. Right?" Donna: "Well obviously we don't have a thing if you're running around kissing slutty girls, right?" Eric: "Okay...you're mad." Donna: "Mad, nooo. Why should I be mad? You can kiss whoever you want. You can start with your own butt!" Thankfully, Donna finds it in her heart to forgive Eric after much apologizing on his part and they kiss and make up. When Eric was on the outs with Donna, Hyde tries to get chummy with her. I think Eric is a little more sure about his relationship with Donna and will start being true to her.

#10 Sunday, Bloody, Sunday

This episode was supposed to air earlier in the season. So, Eric and Donna's relationship haven't progressed that far yet; they're still just best friends. Donna tries to get everyone to help write Eric's government essay while he entertains his annoying grandmother, in order to keep her away from Kitty and Red.

#11 Eric's Buddy

Eric befriends a guy named Buddy from his Chemistry class, who turns out to be gay. Eric and Buddy start hanging out a lot. Donna misses Eric and starts hanging out with Hyde more. Hyde takes the opportunity to rub Donna's leg and tell her that if things didn't work out with Eric and her he would want to go out with her! Buddy kisses Eric and freaks him out. Eric tells him that he's not gay and that he's with Donna. Eric comes home and whirls Donna around and kisses her. Hyde was getting a little too close in this episode!

#12 The Best Christmas Ever

It's Christmas time! The gang is downstairs decorating. Eric and Hyde admire Donna's figure when she's up on a ladder. Eric puts some mistletoe over him and Donna and they kiss. Hyde wants to get Donna a nice gift and asks Jackie and Mrs. Pinciotti for advice on what to get her. Jackie figures out that Hyde likes Donna. Fez says that in his country it would be wrong for Hyde to go after Donna because Eric is his friend, but Hyde says this is not his country. Fez: "Right. So, good luck with Donna." Hyde ends up giving her a really sweet picture in a frame of him and her from the fifth grade. Eric gets Donna her favorite perfume, White Shoulders. Donna obviously likes Hyde's gift better and Eric is jealous. Red comes down to the basement and breaks up the party. Jackie, who is drunk, says, "and Hyde loves Donna." Hyde gets freaked out and says "that's drunk talking." Aftereveryone else leaves, Donna gives Eric and Hyde each their present from her and kisses both of them on the cheek and then leaves. Hyde: "So, what did you get?" Eric: "ID bracelet." Hyde: "Cool. Your names on it?" Eric: "Yeah. What'd you get?" Hyde: "Tube socks." Eric: "Good! I mean, tube socks are good." Oh no! Is Donna going to be wooed by Hyde?

#13 The Ski Trip

Jackie lets the gang spend the weekend in her father's ski cabin. Eric imagines Donna and him laying on the floor kissing in front of the fire at the cabin. Hyde hits on Donna the whole time but Donna puts him off. Hyde: "Hey Donna, I brought my double sleeping bag." Donna: "Sooo...can me and Eric borrow it?" Because Jackie and Kelso are temporarily broken up, she lets Eric and Donna have the bedroom where they kiss some. Later, when Eric goes looking for Fez outside Hyde makes another pass at Donna. Donna: "Look Hyde! I'm here with Eric!" Hyde kisses Donna! And gets a big slap in the face for it! Later, Donna tells Eric that she would never cheat on him and they wrestle around in the car. At the very end, Eric and Donna are laying on the floor kissing in front of the fire like Eric imagined. At last we know that Donna doesn't like Hyde and will be true to Eric! Hyde needs to find himself another girl!

#14 Stolen Car

This is a funny episode where Eric gets the Vista Cruiser taken away from him and is forced to sit in the back seat of Kelso's car that he borrowed from his uncle. While driving around, the police stop and arrest the gang (only the guys are in the car) because they say the car is stolen (at the end it's found out that the uncle had borrowed it from his grandmother and she had mistakenly reported it missing). Nothing happens at all between Eric and Donna in this episode (just hanging out), but things sure heat up between Jackie and Kelso! She tells him when he calls from jail that she is going to "prove my love to you". At the very end of the episode, Eric has the Vista Cruiser back and is very happy..."yes, yes". Nothing is mentioned about the whole Hyde thing.

#15 That Wrestling Show

The guys and Donna are watching wrestling on TV and Eric and Donna start wrestling around. The whole gang plus Red and Bob decide to go to a wrestling match in Kenosha. Red goes because Kitty decides that Eric and him need to spend more time together. Eric and Donna sit together on the car ride down there and at the arena and pretty much hang out the whole time. Jackie is being really nice to Kelso because they slept together, but Kelso was taking advantage of her niceness. Once Donna clued Jackie in, Jackie turned back into her old self. "Michael...Get Me A Soda!" This episode was touching at the very end when Red and Eric were play wrestling in the living room and Red gives Eric a hug.

#16 The First Date

It's Valentine's Day! After wrestling around on the ground like they're always doing, Eric nervously asks Donna out on their first date. She accepts and they decide to go out to dinner at a fancy restaurant on Valentine's Day. Hyde finds out and is miffed because Donna had agreed to help him study at the library. Red buys Eric a nice blazer for the occasion and Donna wears a pretty red dress. When they are in the driveway about to leave, they are really nervous, and both their parents come out to see them off, oohing and aahing over them. Donna suggests they leave fast. Eric: "Good God, yes!" Both Midge and Kitty start taking all these pictures as Eric opens the door of the Vista Cruiser for Donna. Eric runs around to his side of the car covering his face. At the restaurant Eric orders a beer and Donna an iced tea. Later, it is obvious that Donna is really drunk; Eric finds out that the waiter had given Donna a Long Island iced tea. Donna: "I love your little butt Eric." "No one is looking...I'll meet you under the table." Eric tries to calm her down. Donna: "If you don't start singing to me right now, I'm going to start yelling! Sing!" He starts singing "Disco Lady". Then, he decides to leave the table to go find Donna some coffee. All of a sudden, Hyde shows up at the restaurant! He starts telling her he has feelings for her and he thinks she does too. Donna doesn't listen to or understand a word he says because she is so drunk. Eric comes back and is shocked to find Hyde there; Donna gets up all of sudden and runs to the bathroom because she's about to throw up. Eric tells Hyde that he better not be there when he gets back from checking on Donna. Later, Eric and Donna are drinking coffee at the Hub. Donna thanks Eric for holding her hair back while she throws up and Eric asks her to have his class ring. She accepts and they kiss! Later, in Eric's basement, there is tension between Eric and Hyde; Hyde takes a bite out of Eric's chicken leg from the restaurant, Eric takes it back and eats the whole thing in 2 seconds. Yea! Eric and Donna are officially a couple! I don't know what is going through Hyde's head! Maybe he'll back off now that they are a couple.

#17 The Pill

Jackie finds out that she is pregnant! She tells Eric, who then tells Donna. Jackie doesn't want Kelso to know. With the okay from her mother, Donna decides to go on the pill just to be safe (not telling her father or Eric); she sends her dad to the pharmacy to pick up some "medicine". When Mr. Pinciotti arrives at the pharmacy, Eric and Laurie are there picking up some developed pictures. As Eric is looking at the pictures, Mr. Pinciotti asks why the prescription is so expensive. The pharmacist tells him it's birth control pills. His eyes bug out, Eric whirls around to face Mr. Pinciotti with this really freaked out, scared expression on his face and runs out of the pharmacy. In a dream sequence, Mr. Pinciotti imagines that Donna is the star of one of those cheesy, old black and white educational films on sex education called "Open for Business". It's very funny; Donna is dressed up in a fancy ball gown with gloves and Eric, Hyde, Kelso, and Fez are dressed up in really nice tuxes. The narrator says that once a girl starts on the pill, she is "open for business" for as many partners as she wants; All the guys have knowing looks on their faces. The film ends with Mr. Pinciotti yelling "no". Later, Donna is mad when she finds out Eric knows about the pills. At the Hub, Donna tells Jackie about the birth control pills, and Jackie says Donna will "be very popular at school". Eric lets it slip to Kelso that Jackie is pregnant and he passes out on the floor. He's really bummed out, but is willing to take responsibility. Laurie tells Red and Kitty about the pills just to be mean and they start lecturing Eric. Kitty: "Protection is very important." Red: "Protection? Here's your protection: don't do it!" Later, Jackie finds out it was a false alarm. She's about to blow the whole thing off and never think of it again, but Donna shakes some sense into her. Donna says she shouldn't put herself in danger of being stuck in Point Place and not be able to go to college. Later, Jackie tells Kelso that she's not pregnant, then breaks up with him! Kelso: "You're breaking up with me!?" At the end of the episode, Eric and Donna are talking outside in Eric's driveway. Donna tells Eric that she started taking the pill just to be safe for if they start to have sex. Eric: "Okay...now?" Donna: "No." Eric: "Okay...now?" Donna: "No." Eric: "Now?" Donna: "Yes." Eric: "Really?" Donna: "No." They laugh and Donna leaves for her house. All of a sudden, the ever snooping Red comes out of the backyard with a hose and totally soaks Eric (sending him a very clear message.)

#18 Career Day

The whole gang goes to work with one of their parents, except for Jackie, who is a sophomore (the rest are juniors). Eric goes to the hospital with Kitty, Donna goes to the appliance store with Bob, Kelso goes to his dad's office (I think he's a statistician), and Fez goes with Hyde to their school cafeteria: Hyde's mom is the lunch lady "Gross Edna". Eric&Donna don't really have any scenes together in this episode, but Jackie and Red bond over fixing the Vista Cruiser and Eric and Kitty bond at Kitty's work and driving home together.

#19 Prom Night

Eric and Donna go to the prom together! Eric wore a very nice crushed velvet blue jacket and light blue ruffle shirt tux and Donna wore a pretty light blue high waist gown. At the beginning of the episode Hyde convinces Eric to reserve a motel room; Eric was reluctant to reserve one because he wanted everything between him and Donna to be spontaneous (in a dream sequence, he imagines himself and Donna walking along the beach); Hyde said if he didn't, nothing would happen (in a dream sequence, Eric comes home from the prom at 10pm and Kitty comes out of the kitchen and says, "oh honey, you're such a loser"). Since Jackie and Kelso are broken up, Kelso goes to the prom with ditzo Pam Macy and Jackie convinces Hyde to take her (after some persuasive crying). At the prom, Eric and Donna dance together and get their picture taken. The funniest part of the whole episode is when guest star Gloria Gaynor sings "I Will Survive" and Fez and her do the hustle. Later, Eric and Donna decide to leave for the motel room. They start kissing outside the motel room and all of a sudden a crowd of other people from the prom come around the corner and this guy shouts, "Look! It's Eric and Donna, and they're gonna do it!". Then the whole crowd starts chanting "Forman". Eric and Donna quickly go inside to the dingy motel room. They start kissing at the foot of the bed and start to lie down when Eric stops them because they are about lie on a big stain. Eric: "Hang on, hang on, big stain. I'm just gonna go grab a towel." He goes into the bathroom to get the towel and jumps back up against the door when he sees some animal. Eric: "Oh good God! You know, I've heard they're more scared of you, then you are of them." Eric and Donna sit down on the bed and start talking. Eric: "You know Donna I've thought about this moment like a thousand time." Donna: "Me too." (Just then outside, the group of people start making a lot of noise.) Eric: "Hey, when you thought about this moment, was it like this?" Donna: "Not really." Eric: "You know, I was having a pretty good time at the prom." Donna: "Me too. Let's get out of here." Eric: "Okay. Donna, what if this is our only chance?" Donna: "It won't be." Then they leave for the prom. Later, Kelso and Jackie are miserable with out each other. Hyde gets them back together and they dance slow together the rest of the night.
