Use informative and motivational messages to communicate with team members! This is a great way to promote the
event throughout your organization. The following are some sample messages that you could use or go ahead and
create your own.
This is a good message to use a month prior to the event
"Hi. This is ______, the Team Captain for ______team for
Merlyn's Rainbow: Lupus Walk for a Cure being held
on Sunday, September 11th starting on Eastern Parkway and
Nostrand Avenue and ending in a outdoor BBQ. This fun-filled
fundraising event benefits Lupus research and we would like
to have a big team from ____come out and show their support
for a great cause. Both men and women are welcome. If you
are interested in being a team member, please contact me
for registration details. Please come join the fight for
a Lupus cure!"
This is a good message to use three weeks prior to the event
"Hi. This is ____. I am organizing a team to participate
in Merlyn's Rainbow: Lupus Walk for
a Cure, a walk for a Lupus Cure. Every year, thousands
of people die from Lupus. Many of us has been touched by
it in some way. Let’s get together and do something to battle
it. Come join me on the morning of September 11th on Eastern
Parkway and Nostrand Avenue as team ____ gets together to
raise money to cure Lupus. Both men and women are welcome!

and I will get back to you with registration details."

"On September 11th, the Merlyn's
Rainbow: Lupus Walk for a Cure is taking place in
Brooklyn, NY. This 10K event was a huge success for the
last four years, and this year team _____ wants to be one
of the top fundraising teams. As the captain for team ______,
I am asking that you sign up to participate as part of our
team. Let’s show that team _____cares about the health of
the women and men of New York. All are encouraged to come
out and show their support! If you are interested in finding
out more about this wonderful event, please contact me and
I will provide you with information on the simple registration
procedures."
This is a good message to use the week prior to event
"Hi. This is _______, captain for team _____. It is still not too late to
sign up and raise money as a member of the ______team for
the Merlyn's Rainbow: Lupus Walk for
a Cure taking place this Sunday morning beginning
at Eastern Parkway and Nostrand Avenue and ending in a outdoor
BBQ. Event day registration is taking place at Eastern Parkway
and Nostrand Avenue from 7:00 a.m. until 8:30 a.m. The registration
fee is $25 and you can go ahead and join team members at
our team meeting area once you have signed up. We are so
excited to come out and show our team support for such an
important cause, and we want you out there, too. If you
would like more information about registration procedures,
