Index of My Writings
Here is an index of my writings:
- Kerberos: The watchdog of the Ether explains
the protocol behind the Kerberos authentication protocol. It does not cover
the API but just how Kerberos operates. It was published in the September
2000 issue (#82)
of Linux Gazette.
- My Tryst with Freedom is an essay explaining
why I shifted from using proprietary software to Free
Software. It started out as I set out to explain to myself why free software
is The Right Thing but became Yet Another Advocacy Rant for free software.
And I am proud of it.
- Howto Do things in Linux is a HowTo
I am writing for Linux newbie. This howto aims to help users to get acquainted
with the tools available on Linux. Instead of giving a list of programs you
can run, this howto focuses on tasks that you can do and how to get them done
in Linux. The Howto is looking for help from others because there are parts
of Linux to which I am a newbie myself. Some of the chapters from this HOWTO
has been published in March 2003, Issue
88 of Linux Gazette.
- A case for using Free Software in e-governance in India
is a paper which makes shows why India should use Free Software in e-governance.
Most of the organization use Micro Soft's software. I want to show options
other than proprietary are available if we are willing to look. (pdf)
- Exporting your Evolution addressbook
shows how you can export your addressbook in Evolution
to a comma seperated value (csv).
- Lovers of the Heart came to me as a chain letter.
The the chain letter claimed to have began in 1887 and and was love chain
letter The chain letter thing was foolish enough but the letter was really
sweet. I liked it and here it is for everyone to read. If you like it do not
create a chain letter out of it. Read it out to someone you like. :-). My
comments are in italics have also taken some artistic license and deleted
and modified parts I did not like.
