Unbreakable Rules The following items are rules set for PBeM Weyrs. These rules are non-negotiable, and MUST be obeyed by all role-players. Anyone discovered breaking one of these rules will be disciplined by the BoD. Rule 1: Who may Impress what Okay, let's face it, being a dragonrider is the most popular option in a PBeM Weyr. Lunan Weyr has set these rules for who impresses what. We realize some clubs allow other pairings; these are the pairings allowed in Iserion Weyr. Gold: Heterosexual females Bronze: Heterosexual males Brown: Bisexual/Heterosexual males Blue: Bisexual/Homosexual males Green: Heterosexual female, Homosexual males Rule 2: Mating flights Mating flights only occur during daylight. The heat of the sun is the impetus for a flight. No mating flight would occur on the day a Weyr must fly a Fall. No dragon would abandon her duty to fly Fall to have a mating flight. Rule 3: Disabled personas No person with mental disabilities would be Searched or Impress. No person with severe physical disabilities would be Searched or Impress if they would be unable to fly Fall. A rider who becomes disabled as outlined above would be removed from the fighting Wings and be unable to fly Fall. Other personas may be disabled, but only where their disability does not interfere with their duties. (A blind Archivist, for example) Rule 4: Names We cannot use any name Anne has used. We cannot mention any character Anne has created. We cannot mention Benden Weyr, Benden Hold or Ruatha. No persona can be related to a character Anne created. Rule 5: Surgeries Surgeries are rare on Pern, and limited to very basic sorts. The following are allowed, but must be BoD approved. Caesarian section Appendectomy Tonsillectomy Amputation Bone setting Muscle repair Bendable Rules These rules are set by the BoD, and are possibly bendable if you have a good enough reason. Please ask the BoD before bending any of these rules. 1. Zarahemla Weyr: ZW The island that Iserion Weyr and Hold are on is named Ierne Island, and can be abbreviated II (no, not 2, II *grin*). The Signature Block must have: Persona's name Owners name Rule 2: Pets We are allowing a maximum total of 3 (three) pets per persona. Only one gold or bronze firelizard per persona is allowed. Unusual pets, such as whers, watchwhers, wild cats, wherries, etc, require BoD approval. Rule 3: Personae There is no limit on the number of personae. However, we ask that you limit yourself to a number of personas you will have the time to write for. No more than three ranking personae per writer. Ranking personae include Weyrwoman, Weyrleader, HAD, Goldrider, Lord/Lady Holder, Master Craftsmen, etc. If you're not sure if a persona is high-ranking, email the BoD. A partnered dolphineer cannot become a dragonrider, and vice versa. Rule 4: Rank ages Personas can Impress dragons between the ages of 12 and 25. Apprentices can start at age 12 turns. Journeyman/Journeywoman status can be reached at age 16 turns. A persona may attain Master status at 30 turns. Rule 5: Plotlines requiring BoD approval Deaths Mating flights Clutches- both firelizard and dragon Natural disasters Weyr/Hold/Hall wide stories - ex. a drudge burning a hold to the ground. Surgeries Rank advancement Round-robin style posting is generally used, but you can use completed posts if you wish.
