August 11, 1999 ~ Wednesday ~ Breakwaters, 6:45-7:30 p.m.: Abby, Abie, Beng, Lhot, OliveWalking past lovers in the darkness of the night we reached the farthest end of Breakwaters the color of the sky was fading from its saffron hue and soon the stars (the constellation Sagittarius, Scorpius and all the ius ask the stiff-necked stargazer Lhot herself) formed and lit the night sky armed with flashlights, a poetry book and reason we shared our thoughts on the emotion that eludes this helpless bunch constantly love. Its an unfathomable feeling this love but is what makes us stick by just like what one poet states a reason enough to hate. And while we were engrossed in discerning between the lines a boy pops up and asks for alms (sayang, akala namin bagong recruit) we still continued through chanting our song luna luna luna luna lei driven by the clutches of the last eclipse of the century to moan our pleas of release that one day we may find THE ONE who would understand our sentiments of bonding and letting our true selves conquer |
