Here is the New Material Turn A Gundam toy. The New Material in question is Titanium. Yes, this toy has some titanium pieces in it. Don't get too excited as the titanimum is only limited to a few pieces. However, the toy does also feature good old diecast.

As is the case with all of Bandai's Chogokin toys, the Turn A is quite heavy due to its diecast content. Diecast in toys is always a welcome addition. The toy features an okay level of articulation, but nowhere near the level of articulation found in the smaller Gundam chogokin toys. The size of the Turn A more then makes up for the lack of articulation.

The Turn A Gundam was designed by Syd Mead of Blade Runner fame. The deisgn isn't well liked by most Gundam fans. The Turn A Gundam isn't that bad. I don't think 2D does the Turn A Gudam justice. Its one of those designs that really requires 3D in order for a person to see how good it is. Don't judge the Turn A until you have a chance to hold this toy in your hand. I guarantee it will change your perspective. And I've heard alot of complaints that the Turn A Gundam doesn't have that Gundam look. Well, I also like that about the Turn A Gundam. Gundam designs were starting to get stale and similar. I give props to Syd Mead and the Gundam creators for taking a risk and changing things up. Change every once in a while is a good thing.

All of Bandai's Chogokin toys come fully loaded with accessories. The Turn A Gundam also follows this rule. Take a look at the picture below.

Turn A Gundam
  1. Shield
  2. Chest Missile Silos x 2
  3. Gundam Hammer
  4. Missiles x 6
  5. Core Fighter & Cockpit
  6. Shield and Rifle Mounting Rack
  7. Beam Rifle
  8. Extra Gripping Hands x 2
  9. Beam Sabers x 2
  10. Hands x 2 (Not shown in pic above.)

Take a look at the various poses Turn A Gundam is in. This should give you an idea of the articulation this toy has. Bandai did a very, very good job of capturing the essence and likeness of the Turn A Gundam.
