Some
new flooring installation require the removal of old flooring but
not always. It is usually best to start with the bare sub-floor. The
floor should be sound, clean, dry, and level.
There are a number of reasons: for leveling sub-floor, to maintain
current floor elevation, & to achieve a solid and sound
adhesion for your new flooring. The correct floor
preparation will insure a beautiful floor installation.
When installing laminate the new
flooring must acclimate. Acclimation is: allowing
wood moisture content to become at equilibrium with the
environment in which it will perform. This is crucial to
quality installation.
