Members of the Loyola Polo Society battle it out

The Loyola Polo Society

The Loyola Polo Society was established as an official club sport by Matthias Georg Baumberger of Winterthur, Switzerland, on September 9, 1999.  Polo is a very exciting sport that produces an adrenaline rush hardly rivaled by conventional sports.  It requires the partnership of not only teammates, but also the horses.  The sport is very dangerous because of the high speeds involved and the tremendous weight of the each player (more than 2000 lbs. per player, including the horse), but like any other sport, good judgment usually averts serious injury.

There is no other sport like it!  It has been dubbed the "Sport of Kings" because of its popularity among royalty and other members of high society.  Unfortunately, due to lack of proper facilities within a reasonable distance, extensive time commitment, and cost, we have decided to suspend the Loyola Polo Society.  However, please use this site to learn more about the sport and check back in the future for updates.

On behalf of all the members, we would like to extend a warm welcome to all the visitors of this site and all friends of the club!

Very Sincerely,
The Loyola Polo Society
