Nancy Luca was raised in the heart of Florida's gator country where she learned to play guitar at an early age. As the only female guitarist in Gainesville, her stage appearances were at first met with skepticism. "They didn't think girls could play" Nancy says with a laugh, "But I never minded proving them wrong."

Indeed, her distinctive leads, and unique style made her extremely popular all while she was still in high school. With a strong rock and blues base of clubs in Gainesville, Nancy found she could support herself doing just what she loved. Her philosophy of playing is simple: "I love enteratining people and sharing what I know. Each gig brings with it new challenges, and new opportunities to grow as a player."

Word of mouth created contacts with such great artists as Tom Petty, Bo Diddley, and the late Willie Dixon to name a few. This led to her first big break. After many sessions with Diddley, she was asked by him to perform two songs on his new album, "Breaking Through The B.S." Nancy toured with Diddley on the East Coast in support of the album.

In the summer of 1996, the word about Nancy spread across the country to Los Angeles, where she was invited to work with a multi-platinum producer to record her first self-titled CD, released on her own Gatorville Records. .

Nancy received her degree in Music Recording from The University of Southern California in 2002,. She produced, engineered and mixed her new CD entitled "I Play Guitar" and she does indeed play every note of guitar on this release. With drummers Chet McCracken and Kevin Murillo, bass players Brian Whelan and Ben Levine and keyboardist Tommy Mars, Nancy has assembled an outstanding cast of musicians to play on her original songs.

Nancy has been playing from coast to coast receiving rave reviews. She recently acted in a movie called “Star Party” that is still in production. She is currently teaching guitar classes at Long Beach City College and playing in her main band, Superlark. Also performing in the AC/DC tribute band, “Whole Lotta Rosies”, www.therosies.com
