King's Maille Shirt
King's Maille Shirt
More than 1 year (with several breaks),
and approx. 4000 feet of wire
crafted into over 46,000 hand-crafted links,
went into making this King's Maille Shirt.

Please excuse Mr. Pasty in the photo above, it was only -3C (27F) that day and he was a bit fidgety. There are some more shots on the next roll of film to go for processing, so maybe we'll get one where he doesn't look so much like a Springtime Canadian. Anyhow, the shirt is the reason you're here. There it is. The dark line across the belly are the first rows that I did, they can be seen in the 'How to...' section on the right side of the sample piece. I really must sit down and get the shirt good and shiny again.

By way of description: it weighs 19 lbs., contains more than 46,000 butted links, has no sleeves, is made of 20 ga. galvanized steel wire in the King's Maille pattern (aka 8-in-2 pattern), link size is .25"ID, it is not see-through although up close it looks as if it should be.
