The Three Games

As a non subscriber you can have three free games to check the game out. You can also get more free games, but to do that, you must get a subscriber to challange you.

The limitations on you and me in our games is that we may only play three maps. They're called Crossroads, Boulevard, and Front Line. You are only allowed one race, which is the Marines. The Marines are very good if played right and have a lot of different things they can do, so they're probably the best thing for early players to choose in any case. :-)

Personally, I shall play the games as follows:
Game 1: The map will be Crossroads, I will be Marines.
Game 2: The map will be Boulevard, I will be Machina.
Game 3: The map will be Front Line, I will be Spawn OR Greys.

I will do my best to kill you, that I assure you of. There's only one way, and that's the hard way. *Grins*

Game 1

Crossroads is a really good map. There are lots of places to hide and to launch secret attacks from. I will give you some advice on this game as we play it, and also here on this page.

You need to watch out for two things: Snipers and Grenadiers! Do not reveal all your units at the start (so that I can see them from my deployment positions). If a unit runs in the open or stays still there, it will most likely be sniped down. You can counter this by avoiding the open, or getting snipers of your own.

For the Grenadiers, it's a bit trickier. You must adapt to where I decide to shoot the grenades. The Grenadiers are very flexible indeed. Many runners have been killed at the first few turns because they rushed ahead into a storm of grenades. Don't do this! Wait one turn before you go too close and see where the grenades explode :-) Then you will know which places to avoid.

Game 2

Boulevard is a map that is one of it's kind. One side is indestructable, the other consist of destructable walls. You should consider this so that you don't get stuck in the indestructable walls with no way out other than through my jaws.

As I will be playing Machina on this map, you should be careful of my Missile Tanks. They can shoot two missiles each turn and do quite a lot of damage. You will probably be under fire real soon if you place all your units in the indestructable walls (called military walls; they look blue), with no way out.

You should also watch out for AI:s which are very tough.

Generally, when facing Machina you need more Commanders and Snipers than usual. So take a few more of those than you think is neccessary.

Game 3

Front Line is as the others, a very nice map. It's wide and it's tall, and it provides a lot of places to sneak around and launch ambushes.

You will be facing Spawn here, which overall, might be the toughest race to play against if you don't know how.

The one thing to watch out for are Splatters. If they get close to a bunch of marines and explode, it can hurt them all severely or kill them all. You also need to watch out for Goo Spitters, who throw things that look like green grenade. The Goo that comes when the green grenade explode will make units stick to the ground and take damage over time.

Some advice for this map, is to try to scout and see where I'm coming from. Don't leave any corridors unwatched for incoming splatters. Make sure you have full control over whichever part of the map you want to hold.

In opposition to the Machina game, you will not need that many Commanders or Snipers in this game. The more Grunts, the merrier.

Game 3 **SPECIAL**

You will have the option to play against Spawn OR the Greys on the last map. Tell me before the end of the second game if you want to play the Greys instead.

Playing against the Greys is really hard as Marines. Some advice is to do a standard deployment as you'd do against a Marine player (maybe an extra Grenadier however).

Keep your spider sense tingling for any hidden Guardians advancing forward. This means that you should shoot random shots into the open and if it hits anything, there's a Guardian there.

You should avoid confontration with Saucers. Deal with them with Snipers. You should send a Grunt down as hidden as possible to take out Regenerators. If you spot a Grey unit you must kill it there and then! Otherwise it will run back and recharge.

Don't save that last Grenade for christmas. Blow them away to hell and back as soon as they're seen.

Game 4? Wait... there is no game 4!
Our games end here. It is inevitable. A few things can be said however, and that is if one of our games get lost (if you can't find a turn), tell me and I shall see if we cannot get a new game by other means :-).

What's left now then? Hot seat? Repeating the tutorial missions over and over? Oh no, what's left is to subscribe! Click here for some information about it. I hope to see you out there. Good luck!
