A LEADER IN INDONESIAN DEVELOPMENT
LSM PILAR was founded in 2001 in response to the growing statistics related to the lack of jobs, job training, education and skills among economically disadvantaged Indonesian youth, young adults and adults. LSM PILAR is also founded in response to the need of governance reform and nature conservationor environment management in Indonesia. LSM PILAR is the outgrowth of the need to develope a sense of self-appreciation and create a purpose in the lives of people, in order to motivate them to reach their fullest potential. In addition to this, LSM PILAR places a strong emphasis on community empowerment and development through creating jobs, building and strengthening the capacities of small and medium enterprises, providing free education and peace building training. Finally, together with other stakeholders LSM PILAR makes efforts for the establishment of good governance in provincial levels in Indonesia and the conservation of Indonesian environment/nature.
MISSION STATEMENT:
To empower the Indonesian community through capacity building and strengthening efforts and to participate actively in the establishment of good governance in Indonesia and the conservation of Indonesian nature/environment.
GOALS:
To affect the lives of communities by promoting personal and spiritual empowerment, self-appreciation and the respect of individual life within communities and society as a whole.
To bring communities together through job training with education and retainment of jobs as the prime objective.
To establish small and medium enterprises in villages of Indonesia within poor communities.
To monitor and control local governments to make sure that they practice the principles of good governance.
To raise public awareness of AIDS danger and to campaign safe sex.
To promote law enforcement and human rights in Indonesia through legal aids and peace building efforts.
To achieve above goals LSM PILAR works closely with not-for-profit organizations or NGOs with the same or similar objectives as LSM PILAR throughout Indonesia and the world.
