Sambong River Conservation Project
Mission
To protect our environment and population surrounding Sambong River through public education, field observation/monitoring and water protection.
Goal
Map, monitor and maintain the ecological integrity of around Sambong River. Monitor the water pollution ofthe river and report the results to local authorities. Recommend certain actions to be taken by local authorities. Protect key areas and core habitats, and to direct human use to the places where it will have the lowest ecological impact.
Location
Sambong River is located in Batang, a region in Central Java,Indonesia. The river is polluted by the chemical disposals from textile factories around it. The pollution is very dangerous both for the surrounding population and environment.
