Chapter History
We came together as a group of strangers sharing one desire-the need to belong to an organization that accepted us as we are. Although we came from different backgrounds, we all shared the same excitement of starting a Multicultural Sorority that was accepting of all women regardless of color, economic status, and religious beliefs, to participate in a sisterhood. A sisterhood that would provide academic as well as emotional support, and in this search we, "The Six Pack," found Lambda Sigma Gamma Sorority Inc.
Tau Chapter was founded on April 6, 2002 by six women who noticed the need on their campus for a support system that included all women. These six women were determined to make a difference and with this determination Lambda Sigma Gamma Tau Chapter was created. Tau chapter takes pride in its multiculturalism, academics, community involvement, and everlasting sisterhood.
"We the sisters of Lambda Sigma Gamma Tau Chapter Alpha Class believe in a deep-rooted multicultural sisterhood that is accepting of all women regardless of color, economic status, or religious beliefs. We believe in establishing a strong support system for our fellow sisters as well as creating everlasting bonds. We believe in the importance of academic excellence, community involvement, and the encouragement of personal achievements. We believe that through understanding our differences, we can learn the true meaning of "Unity through Sisterhood" while striving for a brighter future for all people."
Tau Chapter, two years in the making, and a life full of Sisterhood!
