First Aid is the assistance given to any person suffering a sudden illness or injury with care provided to preserve life, prevent the condition from worsening, or to promote recovery. It includes initial intervention prior to professional medical arriving. Through this training you will gain the know how in understanding conditions such as asthma emergencies, anaphylaxis, burns, choking, diabetic emergencies, heart attacks, strokes, seizures, neck, head and spinal injuries.

Automated External Defibrillators or AED training is learning how to use a device that is designed to restore a normal heartbeat by sending an electric pulse or shock to the heart. They are used to prevent or correct an arrhythmia, irregular heartbeats, that can be too slow or too fast. Expert knowledge and proper handling of an AED device can help to make a difference in the quick response of saving a life.

Cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) is a key and vital part of knowing how to save someone's life whether it be an adult, child, or baby. It is a lifesaving technique useful in many emergencies, including heart attack or near drowning, in which someone's breathing or heartbeat has stopped. The American Heart Association recommends that everyone — untrained bystanders and medical personnel alike — begin CPR with chest compressions. You will learn proper techniques as well as important textbook knowledge when taking this class. Keep in mind that any and all of the above classes/training can be combined and taken together as one complete class! Here at VSG, we also offer training for Healthcare providers with classes such as Basic Life Support or BLS for Healthcare and those working in Childcare with Babysitting and Child Care training.

Some additional classes and training coming soon are as follows: ACLS or Advance Cardiovascular Life Support, PALS or Pediatric Advanced Life Support and ECC or Emergency Cardiovascular Care Heart Disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women, with hundreds of thousands of Americans dying every year from sudden cardiac events. Although on-the-spot care can triple the victim’s chance of survival, it’s administered in less than a third of cases. The majority of Americans – about 70% – have no idea what to do when a medical crisis strikes. CPR training can change that, and the right CPR classes can give everyone the skills and the confidence they need to react effectively. In addition to successfully completing your classes/training you will receive a certificate good for two years, and you can access refresher materials at any time during your certification period. This way, you'll not only have the training you need to become a vital source of safety, but you'll also have the skills necessary for providing care during an emergency.
