Part One: What do you do when someone falls down? 9/18/2001 PICK 'EM UP!!!!!!!!!!!

I went to se LINKIN PARK on sunday!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It was sooooooooo excellent!

OK, I left my house at 12.15, and mum drove me to the station, where I met Catherine and Amy and Malene. Malene didn't go to the concert, she just stayed at cat's saturday night. I also met Jeff at the station, and he sat with us on the train till tonbridge. Malene left at paddock wood. Jeff listened to Cat's hybrid album, and also told me I could borrow his kerrang album. yay!

Anyway, so we get to london, travel to charing cross on the underground from Victoria, then went to macdonalds and ate some McChicken Wraps (which are so nice btw!). We then went up to Covent garden and did a bit of shopping, (didnt buy much, didnt wanna take much to the gig).

at about 3, we left and traveled on the tube down to waterloo, then to canary warf, the on the light-rail to the arena. The queue was quite long when I got there, Well I thought it was anyway, because thats how long it was when I got to the SG one last year. In reality it was noting compared to the final length of the queue!

So then I went off to find a shop selling a camera and left the others in the queue. I wandered round for 10 minutes till I eventually found an Asda! I bought a Big Brother camers (hey, it was cheap!) and then made my way back. the queue had got a bit longer, but not much. I climbed through the gate (literally - I only just fit tho!) then we waited. and waited. We moved forward slowly, as more people arrived, and they needed to squish peoiple together. at one point we could hear 'Crawling' through the walls in the soundcheck/rehersal! that was pretty cool.

The BEST bit was next - after people handed out thease leaflets about gigs. people in the queues screwed them up and started throwing them around...then it turned into empty bottles...then half full bottles with lids off (!) then FOOD!!! that was soo cool. I got milkshake in my hair, coke on my arms, and a donut hit my chest! we were all in hysterics as things flew over our heads! hehe

Then they started letting people in...so we slowly moved forward. When we got through the doors, and these people searched is (you know, feel down the legs and arms) and they missed my camera (which was tucked in my waist) my an inch (wasn't sure if u were alowed them).

We bought some drinks and chips, and went into the arena. It was so different to the SG gig, there were no seats or anything, just an empty hall, which was great! We were about 10 rows from the front.

We stood there for a bit, as the arena slowly filled. The lights went out, and the crowd stated screaming. Puddle of Mudd came on, and everyone was moshing it was really good! it goot a bit violent, but it wasnt too bad. It was very hot though. you had to stretch your neck up for air, which came through in small wafts. anywhere below about my eyebrow was just recycled air and sweat vapour. woo.

so they finished, and the CHESTER's voice came over the sound stydtem, and he told us to repeat after him: PICK EM UP!! he kapt saying 'If someone falls down..." and we'd shout 'PICK EM UP!!!' ... sounds simple but turned out to advice that was needed!

Adema came on, they were soo good! I really like that band now. but by now we were dying of thirst, and the pit was getting violent becasue of it i think. Between Adema and Dilated Peoples, the crowd were begging for water, and it was being handed out in tiny cups, 4 at a time. That was soo not enough. we got one or two sips each. Then DP appeared on stage, and I got that mad headrush feeling I get when I'm too hot - and I knew I would feint if i didnt sit down or at least lean on someone, so I leaned ont he guy in front, then on Cat, and then all I remember is spinning reaaaaaally fast and seeing heads of moshers all around me! apparently I did feint and Cat and this guy started dragging me before I came round and walked, or stumbled, for myself, and we got to the edge of the hall out of the crowd and i sat on the floor. then we went out in to the foyer, and got some bottles of water (1.50 each!) so when i'd re-hydrated myself, we went back in and I got as near to the front as poss, but it wasn't nearly as good a place as before. THEN i realised thet my camera had DISSAPEARED!!!! It must have fallen out of my pocket or something when I went out. I was (and still am) soooo pissed off with myself!!!

But anyway, the water soon dissapeared inside me, and then there was another bottle war!!!bottles were flying everywhere! It reminded me of one of those sound wobbler things in physics lesson, where the sheet wobbled and all the little balls jump up and down! onlt it was a pit and bottles, not sheet and balls. lol! then this guy came on stage, and told us the LP wouldnt come on till the bottles stoped. They stopped. The lights went down.
