    Genealogy Projects and links

These family history sites; Peakman, Solomon, Sheridan, Schmidt/Smith, John Hook, Thorpe, cover genealogical lines of my children. The McAneny site is Peakman related. The Whakaki site is relevant, as it is the place of our beginnings here in New Zealand.
The genealogies herein are the culmination of about ten years work. Assistance has come in the form of a book handed down to me, and by consultation with family members.

Solomon; This site is about the Solomon/Taruna family. This Solomon name is not to be confused with other Solomons. The name is a young one and is only a few generations old. The name was adopted, and transliterated from Horomona to the english name Solomon.

Sheridan; This Sheridan family is a small, of many and varied parts. Like their Sheridan ancestors, they too are travellers, innovators, searchers, and also very clever.

Schmidt/Smith; This site is dedicated to our ancestors Hachem Johann Schmidt or Smith or Mete, and his wife Tauarai Parapara Kurekure TeMau Smith. The recantation of these genealogies allows us to remember these ancestors and to celebrate our own birth.

John Hook; John Hook was also known as Jack Hook, Flash Jack, Flashy Jack, Captain Hook, Brassy Jack and Black Jack, and Tieki Huka to name some.

Thorpe; Welcome to this the Thorpe family history site. it is written for and in memory of our grand-mother May Thorpe and indeed all of our people who have gone before.

McAneny; The descendants of Catherine and Patrick McAneny are numerous. This site is a comprehensive look at the descendants and ancestry of this couple.

Whakaki; This is not the official Whakaki website, but my understanding of Whakaki - the place that I call Home. This is my attempt to put together the histories, stories and genealogical lines of this place.

Genealogy Database; A database of Peakman names as well all those names in related links. These include Smith, Hook, Sheridan, Solomon, Thorpe, Whakaki and McAneny.

Peter Smith Family; Peter Smith, son of Hachem Smith, and his generations.

    Just a Note

The Peakman website was the first I ever attempted and was to be the pivot for any other genealogy sites that I might decide to attempt.

It has worked out this way, and the genealogies have grown wings.

The web has allowed for huge interaction and as a result much of the information is gained from other family members far and wide.

The genealogy database is a collection of the information on all the sites. It is comprehensive and worth a look.
