Warning: From here on in, it might get triggery. Don't expect our Court to pull any blows, or to try and seem innocent and good. There ain't no sugar frosting here.

From what you'll read past here, you'll probably wonder if we should be locked up for our own good, or to protect those around us. Some of us have nasty tendencies. Well, it's the job of the Seated members to make sure no one gets out of hand, and we've done a perfect job over the last few years.

Everyone has a darker side. We just know where ours is. And that helps us keep it under control, though it may be nastier than 'normal' peoples'. You may ask, 'How can anyone around you be safe? What if someone like Raven gets loose?' Well, that's why our system is the size it is. We have people safeguarding things like that. If someone does get frustrated and come out, then we can go take a time out somewhere.

In fact, we're less prone to irrational outbursts and unreasoning rages than people who aren't multiple. Think about it: Any of us still has the capacity to 'go nuts' under certain amounts of inescapable pressure, but if they do, someone else can take care of outside events while that person calms down. And others can deal with more amounts of stress than others. We're not about to go on a gun-toting spree, or go nuts and do something like commit suicide. We're a system here, and we work as a system. Ironic, isn't it?

Cheshire knows of a quote, but not the full of it, or the origin: "I can be perfectly insane in the safety of my own head." It's true. We are twisted, and messed up, but it doesn't go anywhere apart from us, where people are used to dealing with each other.

The Seated Members:

Judith: An odd soul unto herself, Judith enjoys bursting the bubbles of people who are presumptuous, or think that they are invincible. She enjoys pointing out weaknesses to people, but oddly enough, sees herself as more of a teacher. She honestly just wants people to think in depth. She has no problem with those who are aware of and accept their flaws, and who don't try to keep up a superior appearance. As easy as this sounds, everyone has stuff running around in their subconscious, and that's the kind of stuff she likes digging up. People often claim that they know all the dark corners in their heads, and are fine with them, but aren't when those types of things come to light under pressure. Kyth is the only person she doesn't bother fooling with, because he's fine knowing he's far from perfect. He also doesn't try to create a positive image of himself in society's eyes. Hmmmó connection?

The worst part about Judith is that she is highly intelligent, and has a well-developed sense of how to detect people's weak spots. She's Machiavellian to the core, and can weave together different events and actions as adeptly as a spider, turning anything to her aims. Who knows? Maybe the frankness of this page is an attempt by her to get the world to reject us, and so hurt the Summer Court.

Selene: One of the best examples of the fact that some people differ in ethnicity, Selene is Irish, through and through. She has red hair, and is extremely soft-spoken and laid back. She believes in Tai Chi, meditation, and Yoga. The reason she's on Winter Court, however, is because she has the capacity to be extremely nasty if you cross her. She has a fascination with entropy--buildings crumbling, the rat that's dying from poison, the last kick of roadkill--that sort of thing. She doesn't care for the pain or anguish of dying, just seeing that second when life crosses over and is extinguished. She isn't really that malicious--she just enjoys seeing the result.

Morgan: A bitter 31-year-old. He is, to our eternal shame, racist and sexist (this gets on the Summer Court's nerves, because Stryke is African-American). He doesn't really care about anything, and anything he says is hate-filled and bitter. He's a pessimist, and doesn't believe that the world is worth anything.

Dove: She's anorexic, and believes she's inherently ugly. She is ashamed of herself, and believes that she's worthless. Conversely (or perhaps logically) she has the best sense of self-care, such as how to dress, etc etc. She's Merrin's twin sister.

Merrin: Dove's twin sister. She helps perpetuate Dove's low self-worth, constantly telling her she's worth nothing. She's a megalomaniac, but is relatively harmless, since she has Dove to play with. She's also a sadist. We don't stop her 'games' with her sister, because they keep her occupied. Does this seem heartless to you? Well, that's how the Winter Court works. "And love is sometimes violent/And violence has no restraint." --?

Clove: One of Rebekka's criticizers, she mercilessly grinds it in every time Rebekka does something wrong. She's also very reclusive, and believes that solitude is the best path for us to take--that if no one knows anything about us, then they can't hurt us. She doesn't want anyone to know even a phone number that we could be reached at. No one is safe enough to get near us, in her opinion. She's a pessimist, and does not like anyone knowing anything about us, or about her. This entire Web site went up with great resistance from her, and it's hard enough writing her description.

Marie: Gabriel's sister. She's a Southern girl too, with a vivacious love for 'N'Awlins'. She doesn't like dealing with people, has contempt for her brother's womanizing, and is her voice is very soft. She is a very straightforward thinker, and is not patient with anything that stands between her and her destination. She has no sympathy at all, either for herself or for anyone else. If she makes a mistake, she doesn't cover it over or try to fluff it down. If someone else makes one, then she doesn't try and ignore it so as not to hurt their feelings.

Sparrow: She's an artist, and likes to listen to Ani Difranco and Tori Amos. She's more structured in her art, and doesn't do as many freestyle, 'raw paintings' as Sammi. She likes watching Anime, and reads a few comic books when she can spare the time. She's more people-oriented than most of us are.

Sammi: An artist as well, but who paints freestyle. Her preferred tools are the trowel and whatever else is lying around. She hangs out with Judith, and her work is a little moreó welló disturbed, I guess. She paints the imagery which Judith gives her.

Hazel: She hangs out with Selene, but isn't as gentle. She has more of an indifferent attitude, and isn't as esoteric. She likes to keep in shape, and doesn't really care to deal with other people--she just does the 'practical maintenance' which needs to be done in the Winter Court, such as move heavy things like furniture (which Mary and Kim aren't strong enough to do). She doesn"t like to talk.

Carrie: We're not sure from where/what she dates back from, but she has the constant urge to pack up and leave. She holds the belief that restarting our life over again would be better, or seeing a change of scenery--anything. She just wants to leave, and go somewhere else.

Jacob: I guess the best description of him would be 'a jerk'. He's obnoxious and rude, and doesn't care about speaking his mind. He's contemptuous of a lot of things, but at least he's not bitter.

Raven: She's filled with violent rage. She never fully comes out, because we're smart enough not to let her. When someone who needs to be out doing something (ex, Rebekka) gets angered to the point where she can't function at the level she needs to, Raven takes the rage. She's very strong, and very violent, lashing out at the world in general. I guess the one good thing is that she doesn't really hold grudges--she sees everyone and everything as one big target to lash out at.

Mercy: Merry, good-natured, and roguish. She's quick and light on her feet, and is much quieter doing anything than anyone else. She feels that the monetary imbalances in the world are fine, and that you have to take what opportunity gives you. She's the type to accept a $1000 dollar refund from the IRS that was an accident (not that we'd ever be lucky enough to have that happen to us, grumble --Merc)
