Caring for your Lovebird:  This is not a complete care center just the basic facts....

A bird safety is important step to insure the safety of your bird.

1. Do not over heat teflon pan, in other words do not let you pan get to a very hot burning point the fumes will harm the bird.

2.Do not  feed your bird the following foods, chocolate, Sweet, Salty foods, cocoa, avocado, and even not alcohol,  their liver cannot metabolize the alcohol, and many fruits as they have pesticide on them., they should be washed and dried.

3. Try to avoid using any houshold sprays, especially bug sprays, hairspays, and most any other spraying contents around the bird.

4.
Love birds do not need grit, they can well digest thier foods.

5. Here is a list of things to keep in mind that are not safe for your bird,

6. When you let your lovebird out for exercise make sure you do the following, do not have anything cooking on stove top, all ceiling fans turned off,  toilet lid closed, all doors leading to outdoors should be closed, and also as a precautionary fact ( Please do not go to sleep with your lovebird ), as cute this may seem, but it's dangerous as you may accidentally roll over on your bird)  this has happened to one owner of a lovebird, this simple measurement can make a big different.

7.
Lovebird Diet

Lovebirds require more than just seed. A pelleted diet, supplemented with fresh fruits, vegetables, boiled eggs, cereals, pasta, rice, and lentils will produce a heathly, beautifully feathered Lovebird. Many Lovebird breeders also feed a seed-based diet, with most of the other foods as supplements. A seed-based diet must consist of a mixture of seeds and grains. Canary seed, millet, rice, oats, safflower and a small amount of sunflower are the most popular parts of these seed mixes. Corn is often a big hit with Lovebirds, as is sprouted seed. Lovebirds also tend to drink a lot of water, and must have fresh water available at all times.

8. Cleaning

Be sure to keep thier water bowl clean by changing it to fresh water daily, they drink lots of water. Change thier food as well everyday, Change the bottom of thier cage frequently, avoid letting poop build up.  Check around the cage see if the wires of the cage needs cleaning,  If it does use warm water on a wash cloth with no soap,  and wipe it down clean.
I've visited many pet stores and sadly thier water has all this gunk in it and thier water looks cloudy....,  a bird relies on you to do stuff for him he cannot do it.  Can you image a bird going to the spicket to fill thier bowl, muchless getting thier food too. So therefore you are his caregiver.
