Mr & Mrs M. who George Hudson and I had to look after -he died shortly after of cancer but his wife was convinced that as he suffered no pain at the end and required no drugs that he had experienced a small Lourdes miracle.
Deciding that after 'lock down' in the hotel we could do with a pizza and a few of us lowering ourselves from the hotel window on belts that had been tied together! We never did find a pizza shop though.
The candlight procession - magical.
I was lucky enough one day to work down at the Baths - submerging the pilgrims in the spring water. It was a little nervewracking. So much so that one gentleman came in who had a hole in his throat in order to breath. It didn't dawn on me that he wouldn't want to be completely submerged and it was only Colin Moran's interference that stopped me drowning the poor man.
