ZenThe Community of Mindful Living (CML) supports the practice and teachings of mindfulness and mindful living offered by Vietnamese Zen Master Thich Nhat Hanh. The Everyday Zen Foundation provides teachings of and information about Zoketsu Norman Fischer. The Great Bright Zen Center in Las Vegas and Boulder City is part of the Kwan Um School of Zen. Ordinary Dharma and its affiliated retreat center, Manzanita Village, provides teachings and retreats under the guidance of Caitriona Reed, Michele Benzamin-Miki and other teachers. Tibetan BuddhismBodhi Path Buddhist Center of Santa Barbara is part of the Bodhi Path Buddhist Philosophy and Meditation Centers, a Tibetan Buddhist organization of the Karma Kagyu lineage Thrangu Rinpoche's web site lists affiliated centers and has a large collection of his free, on-line texts. The Milarepa Fund, started by the Beastie Boys, supports the Tibetan people's nonviolent struggle to regain their freedom. It has some excellent pictures of Tibet. Engaged BuddhismThe Free Burma Coalition is an umbrella group of organizations around the world working for freedom and democracy in Burma. Food For The Poor raises funds and provides direct relief assistance to the poor, through the churches and charity organizations already operating in areas of need. The U.S. Fund for UNICEF is one of 37 national committees set up around the world to raise money for UNICEF The Buddhist Peace Fellowship promotes democracy and human rights around the globe, particularly focusing on Bangladesh, Burma, Vietnam, and Tibet. They also have a great bibliography on engaged Buddhism. Amnesty International is dedicated to freeing prisoners of conscience, gaining fair trials for political prisoners, ending torture, political killings and "disappearances," and abolishing the death penalty throughout the world. Doctors Without Borders delivers emergency aid to victims of armed conflict, epidemics, and natural and man-made disasters, and to others who lack health care due to social or geographical isolation. Wisdom Publications is a non-profit company which publishes translations of the sutras and tantras and teachings of past and contemporary Buddhist masters. Dharma Seed Tape Library, a non-profit organization, produces and distributes dharma talks at the absolute lowest price possible. Free talks are available at their Dharmaseed site. Snow Lion Publications is the largest press devoted to Tibetan Buddhism.
