3D development began in January 2002, with the creation of a 1:4 scale Clay model.
This was worked on and refined until April 2002, when a GRP mould was taken from it.

The resulting finished GRP model was exhibited to industry and the general public in late June 2002.
CAD model work began in August 2002 with feedback gained from Esprit owners by displaying the design on the website www.lotusespritworld.co.uk
