At the end of June we spent two days in Indonesia on Batam Island, which is in sight of Singapore. We did a survey on a prospective boat there. We decided that a complete rebuild from top to bottom was not what we needed!
In July Ines taught a Reiki Level 1 course and we finally managed to complete the sale of our house in the UK after 11 months of trials and tribulations. At the end of july we flew to Shanghai to look at yet another boat. This a Formosa 56, which is not yet complete. It proved to be a very nice boat, unfortunately it appears to lack the correct ballasting and as the builder is not interested in putting that issue right, we have had to give that idea up!
In mid August we flew via Penang to Singapore and then to the UK, where we spent two very enjoyable weeks catching up with family and friends. We arrived just as the very hot summer weather came to an end. Still we had a great time and the temperatures were comfortable. After that we flew onto Zurich for another two weeks with family and friends in Switzerland. We really did enjoy our tour of Europe and it was as always nice to catch up with everyone there. But as the morning temperatures dropped down to 12 C and the trees started to show signs of Autumn approaching, it was time for us to fly!
on the 11 September we finally arrived back in Langkawi after a 23 hour journey. While away the weather has been bad with a great deal of rain and strong winds. Several boats in the marina have suffered minor damage. Lotus Mantra is fine but the weather is still not very nice! As I write the jet lag is wearing off and we are settling back into normal life patterns again. We are now planning our next adventure. At the moment we are in the very early stages of this, so I will leave it until next time!
