Lotus Call: Get Involved!
In Thanjavur, Tiruvarur, and Nagapattinam districts of Tamilnadu in India nearly, 5000 Kothis face discrimination from family, at school, and in their local communities. Kothis are left overpowered by discrimination without recourse to justice. With no means to justice, Kothis often leave their villages, which in turn leads to increased risk as the move further away from support networks. HIV/AIDS is one of the many dangers to which Kothis become increasingly susceptible.
