Gandalf: Also known as Mithrandir

Gandalf the Grey is a very wise and powerful wizard, though he is not as strong as Saruman the White. He finds out that Bilbo has the One Ring, so he goes to Saruman for help. Saruman betrayes Gandalf and beats him up in a wizard battle. Gandalf Flies from the top of Isengard to Rivendell on an eagle. He decides to join the Fellowship in helping Frodo get the ring to Mordor. When they are going through Moria he gets in a fight with a Balrog of Morgoroth. Gandalf falls in to the great darkness of Moria with the Balrog. Everyone thought he was dead.
