Howdy y'all
Well I went home two weekends ago, got home around 11:00 pm (I HATE NEWARK AIRPORT!) and had left by 9 the next morning with the Jag to go to UVA. Had an intresting but good time. Not at all what I had expected. I arrived at noon, as expected, and saw Caitie first. That was fun, but something seemed off with her. Maybe I am over-analizing. Finally got in touch with Brendan around 5. We chilled for a while. Walked around campus and talked about how everything had been. It was intresting to hear about typical life at a large college.
Part of my plan was to be staying with Brendan. It probably would have been a good idea to ask about that first though, cause he already had another friend of his from Gonzaga staying in his room. "Thats cool," I thought, "I'll just crash in Caitie's room." Nope, can't do that, according to her RA. I have my own ideas about that...
So I kind of floundered, concidered just driving home, but I know a few more people at UVA, no worries yet...
So I chilled with Brendan, we watched the UVA vs. FSU game. Poor UVA couldn't tackle. The Semnioles were getting an extra couple yards every play becase they were dragging the Cavs around after being tackled. UVA lost, which kind of killed the mood of everyone involved, so there wasn't even any decent partying or depravity. Well the game finished and we chilled a bit longer, but the crowd started to disperse. And it became apparent from the look on Brendan and his girlfriend's faces that I needed to be elsewhere...
So Brendan and I go in search of Neyland. Fortunatly we catch him, and he agrees to put me up for the night. He's sick though, so he doesn't feel like going out. So we chill and talk for a couple of hours, comparing notes on what happened after St. James. His roommate could have been my roommate's best friend.
Neyland and I went to mass at the chapel the next morning. It was pretty nice, but very folksey. St. James has corrupted me. I am appreciative of gergorian chant and latin... I left after having breakfast with him. Never got the chance to say goodbye to Brendan or meet Caitie's bf. 's all good though.
On a side note, there is nothing more beautiful than central Virginia in the early fall.
I spent the next two days at home, recharging and seeing friends I hadn't seen since summer. Matt, Pat, Steve, and I got together in Starbucks. Had a good time. I had lunch with my Grandmother on Monday and dinner with the whole family. Went to chill with Tim that night. Had a good time talking and chillin'.
As for how things are here, I seem to be changing. I'm not sure how, but it's either me, or everyone I know. I don't know why, or what is changing. More thought needs to be devoted to that before I make a decision. Any suggestions? |
