Take Me Home!
About an hour later we found our place! My face had melted into next week and we still hadnt eaten.
We met two Canadians who owned the bar. Alex, and his wife.  They offered us drinks, me n Lett looked at eachother, we had just spent the last two euros we were carrying, on the bus fares.  We ordered two cafe lattes and passed on the food.  If they were gonna charge us, we would return in the evening.  After all, England were playing and they had a tv set up in the bar.
So we sat for hours and hours, chatting about rpetty much everything and anything.  Funnily enough Lettie had already encountered the bartender working there, but we felt it best to not mention it, she couldnt remeber his name! LOL
Alex assured us that the drinks were on the house and we agreed to return that night to see how the place was and to try waitressing ourselves. cool, that was settled!
We left Epimendis with hopeful thoughts.
We'd forgotten we had no money left and had to walk to the next village (stallos) in order to get home....balls.
Hours later and back at Andonis' we were sitting having a coke in the reception bar.  Andonis was telling us that he knew of a place for 10 euros a night and would take us there.  Letting us know that we were welcome to use his pool, showers and washing machines wheneer we wanted.  We knew he was being fair but couldnt help feeling sorry for ourselves.
We loaded our cases (leaving sophie BOOM BOOM and cameron (the video camera) at Pavlakis) & set of in Andonis' car.
We arrived at Dolphin.  From the outset it didnt look too bad.  Quite a large complex with a huge swimming pool.  The only problem so far w3as the distance from here to Platanias.
An American couple owned this complex.  They had two children and the most gorgeous dalmation!
We sat downstairs talking for a while before we were taken to our room
.....OHHHH dear!
We immediatley named this place Shit Hole the Second.  The room was minniscule and disgusting.   It looked as if it hadnt been touched for at elast 10 years.  The tiny balcony was shadowed and overgrown with weeds and a constant scurry of ants.  The owner left us to our own devices.
Both dissappointed and boiling hot we switched on the fan...which simulateously squeeked and then conked out. Grrrrreat.
I sat on the bed completely emotionless.  i was so hungry i felt sick.  I laid down, listening to Lett sobbing.
Neither of us had a clue what to do.  I suddenly felt very young and VERY stupid.
To stay would mean just staying in Crete for the sake of it; Dolphin was so far from anywhere that we wouldnt be able to find jobs anyway, and we couldnt even afford buses.
To leave Dolphin would strand us....with nowhere to stay and little money.
However we could go wherever we wanted.
While i sat there mellowing this over in my mind,Lettie hit rock bottom.  Clearly unhappy she announced she was leaving me (lol).  She got up and left the appartment.  I had no idea where she was goin but myself felt like i needed time alone, so i left her to it.  I was as upset as her but refused to show it, a Fullbrook never gives up.
By the time Lett came back i had fallen asleep but she woke me up.  Still tearful she asked me what she thought we should do.
She had gone to ring her dad.  He suggested that we took all the money we had left (150 euros) and spend the next 6 days living it up. Returning on the 6th as planned.
This idea didnt sound too bad, except for one flaw,

WE WERENT GOIN HOME!....
