		Sweet Hollow Road's Mary


	Mary was driving herself home one day in the Mid to Late 30s. As most cars in those days, her truck had a crank engine. It was brand new but for some reason died at the Overpass on Sweet Hollow Road. She stepped out of the car and waited by the side of the road until someone came by that could help her get it started again. After a while 3-4 men drove up to her but instead of helping they dragged her to the backside of the overpass where they beat and raped her. It is unknown whether she died during the beating or layed in the ditch suffering but either way her body was found the next morning by a local farmer. Her body was identified by the coroner and given to the family. She was burried in the nearby cemetary. Her family was poor, as were most people during the depression, so only her first name was written on the grave but she was burried in her family plot. The story says that if you are a female travelling alone on the road and put your car into neutral under the overpass Mary will push the car up the incline. We have one Very reliable report of this happening to a close friend of the society and she is the one who sent us the "true" story of Mary. When she stopped her car under the overpass she couldn't roll backwards because the ground is even and couldn't move forward because of the incline BUT the car did just that. In neutral the car rolled forward and up the incline. She says she looked around to make sure no one was near the car and as she returned facing forward she saw a young girl out of the corner of her eye walking away from the car wearing a Blue dress, with one shoe and brown hair. She was smiling as though pleased to help. The person who told us this story is a Sceptic when it comes to the paranormal but she said this was an undeniable event. So don't fear Mary.
