Sweet Hollow Road and Mount Misery are one of those areas that grew in legend around Long Island.  We were told and sent hundreds of stories about the road. SWEET HOLLOW RD STORIES After so many stories we had to see for ourselves. On March 19, 2005 we took the team to investigate the area.  The team consisted of Will, Ian, Tom, Brian and Joey.
Before I get into the investigation I want to warn everyone that this is an EXTREMELY DANGEROUS road at night.  There are barely any street lights, all blind curves, no sidewalks, people drive the roads like maniacs and rumors say there are KKK members and Neo Nazis living on the road and the surrounding areas.  We have no proof or disproof of such.
! !
We did multiple drives down the road on different days with a camcorder.  On the day of the investigation we started at about 10:30pm by powdering the car.  One of the stories of the road is that by the time you get to the end there are mysterious fingerprints coting the car.  If anything were to touch the car we would see it in the powder.  We used regular Baby Powder and spread it with a dust pan brush to make sure no one touched the car.  After all the powder was applied we thoroughly checked the car for any pre-existing fingerprints.  There were none.  We only touched the door handles and the windows.  We drove the road very carefully and slowed down a bit under the overpass where a lot of stories take place.
After leaving the road we parked at a nearby diner on Jericho Tpke. and inspected the car for fingerprints.  To our surprise we found 2 sets of 3 fingerprints on the trunk and a perfect thumbprint towards the back of the passanger side.  Those are the pictures shown above.  There was also a palm print on the back driver's side door but no one got a decent picture of it.  It is on the video however.
There is really nowhere on the road to pull over and do "on foot" investigations.  So on one of the preliminary drives down the road, starting from Jericho Tpke., I jotted down some areas we could park.  Walking investigations started at 11:22pm.  The first stop was at West Hills Day Camp.  We split into 2 teams.  Team 1 consisted of Ian and Tom.  Team 2 consisted of Will, Brian and Joey.  Using the Day Camp as a half way point Team 1 walked towards Old Country Rd. with a digital camera and a camcorder; Team 2 walked towards Jericho Tpke. with a camcorder, a digital Camera and a sound recorder.  We kept in contact with 2 way radios.  After about 10 minutes we met back up with each other.  Ian and Tom said they heard a very loud, odd sound but our team didn't hear it.  There was no evidence caught at West Hills Day Camp.  Our next Destination was the Sweet Hills Riding Center about 10 minutes away...
