Having
a school site technology plan is important because technology is always
changing and it is good to have a plan. This
particular school site technology plan is based
on Magnolia
Elementary. Though this plan is not in
place it is a fine model of all the components needed in such a plan. In the plan goals, benchmarks, and timelines
are established. Supporting is an
important part of a plan because if the support is not in place the
plan will
most likely fail. The last component is
funding. Money is always a necessity.
Along
with a school site plan it is also important to have a classroom
technology
plan. The focus is on what you would
like your students to know about technology. Again
you need to establish objectives, benchmarks,
and a timeline. What methods are going to
be used and followed
to show that your students have mastered that use of that certain
technology concept? Students need to learn
about technology so
each classroom should have a plan to ensure technology knowledge is
gained.
I
am constantly attending professional development workshops about
technology. It is important to me to
keep learning what our district is offering in terms of technology and
how we
can use it effectively. The screen shot shows
