EFFECTIVE IMEDIATELY

WE CANNOT TAKE IN ANY OWNER SURRENDER

~ OR ~

"FOUND" BEAGLES . . . AT THIS TIME !

Due to circumstances beyond our control direct rescue operations have been suspended.
Only the adoption of beagles currently in the program will be pursued.

We can only assist in placement of a very few found/surrendered beagles.
Without exception the beagle must be spayed/neutered, fully vacinated and heartworm negative.
YOU MUST PROVIDE FOR FOSTER CARE OF THE BEAGLE!
You cannot present us with any kind of "deadline" at any time.

* * * We can and will continue to take in directly any returned beagles adopted from LSBR. * * *

Are you still curious about us making an exception to your unwanted beagle?
Please do keep reading what we have to say below.

This freeze on rescue operations is due to massive volume of inquires asking for assistance we are unable to provide. We believe our public posts explain thoroughly the limitations of what rescue can or cannot do to assist in placement of a beagle in need. Yet again and again we recieve inquires of assistance from people with unvacinated/untested and/or intact beagles that need to find placement imediately because there is a deadline and they absolutely cannot or will not be able to care for the beagle they found or currently own. We get very few who can actually follow through on full policy of spay/neuter, shots and heartworm test and most important . . . can FOSTER while we search for homes. Therefore we are usually unable to assist in most cases as referals service of found or owned beagles. It creates far more problems than it solves while we have other obligations in need of our attention.

Below is our laundry list of "do nots" if you still think we have places to put a beagle or if you think we might make an exeception to our current policy of owned or found beagles:
(these are from actual questions sent to us by real owner surrenders)

* Please do NOT ask us if we have space to foster a dog.
* Please do NOT ask us if we know of any foster homes in your area that can take your beagle.
* Please do NOT ask us to find "urgent" or "imediate" placement for your beagle.
* Please do NOT ask us to consider your beagle as top priority to find placement.
* Please do NOT ask us to put your beagles on a "waiting list"
* Please do NOT ask us to provide a foster home after you "temporarily" care for it.
* Please do NOT ask us if we can take your beagle if you cant find a home by such and such date.
* Please do NOT ask us "How do I get my beagle in foster care if ________(special reason) ?"
* Please do NOT ask us to provide a temporary foster home ("free room & board") for a beagle.
* Please do NOT ask us to find a home for an intact and/or unvacinated beagle. (even if it's a puppy)
* Please do NOT ask us if we know somebody "looking for a beagle puppy" to adopt . (see above)
* Please do NOT EVER ask us to advertise your unspayed female beagle as needing a good home.

. . . . . . If you send any email asking us to do so, it will NOT be answered the way you want us to. We are just going to repeat everything you have just read. We are very sorry if this comes across as rude and unpleasant. But there is nothing pleasant about animal overpopulation. Thank you for understanding.

This policy will continue until we recieve more offers to volunteer, namely providing a foster home We will only consider an offer to volunteer if you can provide a committed foster home when a beagle is in need. For more information about rescue, volunteer and fostering of our beagles please contact us To see a current list of Beagles and other hounds available for adoption click HERE

* * * If you have adopted a dog through LSBR and are no longer able to care for it, please contact us ASAP to make arrangements to return the beagle or hound to our rescue. * * *

Thank you for your consideration.
