| A Voice from the Darkness I can think of a thousand reasons why I shouldn't do this, guessing at what people will say and the things that they will think. For me the only reason to do this, is as a human, in my heart, that place we all have called a soul. This feels like the right thing to do. We live in a world that we are destroying in the name of progress, by laws and values that were set decades ago. In a world where money is more important than life. One thing that we can all agree on is that things change. I have grown from the child I was many years ago to the man I am today. This world is changing in the last 100 years we have gone from smoke signals to mobile phones. Peoples view and opinions change with time. Many years ago most believed the world to be flat. In time all things change, and with the blink of an eye it all ends. The pace of technological advancement is staggering in anyone's books, where does it all end and at what cost? There are so many wrongs in this world too many to mention, and who am I to tell you what you already know? I just feel like I have to say something, put some words to paper. With the age of global communications and the invention of the Internet this is my way of doing that. If god has a 50-50 chance of being true I have to ask what the percentage chance of us being alone are? I look at the governments around the world and wonder who really is in charge. Sometimes this world makes no sense to me. As I get older I find my thoughts turning towards my family my child, with people that I choose to call friends. As I try to make peace with myself, and those who I have wronged, with my actions and deeds. If life is a journey and we all have to find our part in it then this is in part some way an attempt at that. So you could say this website is a sorry to all those who want one. But you could also say that this website is a collection of my deepest feelings, dreams and hopes. As I have moved through this journey called life, many people say that some of the words I said to them make a lot of sense in their minds. So in some way I hope you find something on this site that inspires or touches you, if nothing else hopefully it will make you think a little. Everyone is different and that is the beauty of being human. For it is within these differences that we are unique and special. At some stage along the path the journey has become more than a personal journey into my soul and surroundings. There are changes in the offing that are going to be detrimental to everyone, but most importantly to Gaia herself. In order to avert some of this the pagans in my local area are getting together to attempt to work within the societal structure already in place and gain representation for the views of pagans in government. With over 40,000 registered pagans you would think that this would be a relatively simple task, but the first meetings of the 'Faith in the Community' did not include the pagans. The reasoning for this is a lack of cohesion between different 'sects' of pagans for want of a better word. We do not speak as one on any matter, including our own faith. This is at once a wonderful testiment to our individuality and a stick with which we are beaten by the government back into the category of 'cults.' While I would not call paganism as the umbrella term for many different faiths (including wiccan and satanism to name but a few) a 'religion' it does deserve the same status as any other religious belief. Discrimination based upon a belief in the pagan ideals is still common enough that it is considered abnormal or a joke to announce your faith to your employers and even colleagues. If this were to be the case with the christians I am sure there would be many lawsuits flying around by now. It is time to make a positive change to our law system, society and our environment, it won't be there forever and I welcome any help that can be given - pagan or not. Smudge.
