United Pagan Kingdom.
Regional Representatives: An Introduction.

In order to be truly representative of the pagans throughout this country we are going to need to have an elected representative within each county. To get this started we need to appoint a temporary representative for each county to get in touch with the pagans in their area and set up the platform for a democratic election.

These representatives need to be able to:

Within three months of being appointed get in touch with every pagan in their area and give them information about the upcoming election. This includes the covens and the lone witches, be it by telephone, e-mail or in person. In order to do this they may wish to search for members in their local area on the internet. There is a good resource for this on the witches voice. (A link to it is in the links section of this site.) Each pagan that wishes to be represented should join the United Pagan Kingdom e-group to gain updates about the elections and items they will need to vote on in future. Any covens/individuals that are not on the internet will have to appoint someone to go onto the net to print out the information and election forms.

A list of all the coven leaders by town/city that wish to be registered in the area must be sent to
[email protected] with an e-mail address to contact them. They will have to give their permission to be contacted by the United Pagan Kingdom and have that information passed to us for the information to be collected.

After three months the registered pagans will have two weeks to put forward anyone that they feel would make a good representative for their county. The contact details of the candidate would have to be sent with the suggestion so that the United Pagan Kingdom can verify that they would be willing to take up the role if they were elected. All the candidates will then have two weeks to contact the pagans in the county and campaign for the issues that they feel are relevant in whatever way they deem appropriate (within the law.) An election would then be held online through a voting form - this will be put up onto the website closer to the time. Every pagan that wishes to be registered to vote will need to contact the UPK at
[email protected] to gain a registry number - this will stop multiple votes. The winner will be announced to the successful candidate, the temporary representative, the pagan community and on this website as soon as a clear winner has been determined. In the case of a tied vote, a second ballot will be held for the two most popular candidates.

If you would like to volunteer to become a temporary representative for your county, for more information please feel free to contact us. Please remember this is a mammoth task and will require much time and effort. All counties that have a temporary representative appointed will be listed under their region on the website. If you are unsure which county you are considered to be in you can check the county lists
here.

If you would like to see who the leader and representatives are for the UPK in other countries then they can be found
here. This information may be a little slower to filter back to us because of the area they have to cover but we will make sure it is as current as possible.
