"Tsim Sha Tsui" Food wise, Tsim Sha Tsui is no weaker than Central. Although is may not have as many bars and pubs as Central, the number of restaurants are similar if not more.
Because I know you won't read EVERYTHING
that's here (because it IS a lot) so for quicker reference: Starbucks I wont even bother counting all the Starbucks in TST because there are so many. My favourite one is of course the one at the Star Ferry which is weird for me because it's connected to a shopping arcade. That Starbucks seems more comfortable than the one near HMV even though that one is completely independant as a shop. Anyways, the best thing about the ferry starbucks is that they have nice sofa seats near the window. Not gross sofa seats but NICE sofa seats...you know how hard it is to get a nice sofa seat? Anyways, I'm not going to go into all the details again because it's pretty much the same thing as the Causeway Bay and Central Starbucks sections. 1 Peking Road The new building on 1 Peking Road is a whole block of restaurants. I've only tried one place though - "Ka Ma Do"...the Japanese place. IT'S SOOOOO NICE!!! The food is great, reasonably priced and comes in BIG portions. The interior design is amazing...it rates 5 out of 5 just for atmosphere. The desserts are amazing as well...they're not the typical desserts (e.g. green tea ice cream) but they have stuff like "Green Tea Tiramisu"...stuff people actually want to try. Plus, they have the nicest serving plates and bowls and that alone rates full marks. For more info on "Ka Ma Do" go to my "Food in Hong Kong" section and look at "Japanese". This place "Aqua" I've heard about but haven't been there yet. I've seen pictures of the place and it looks absolutely amazing...dimmed lights and all. CitySuper! Cooked Deli + Pit In The CitySuper! Cooked Deli is in Silvercord which is right opposite "Harbour City". The "Pit In" is also there. The Cooked Deli is a great place to stop by for lunch when you're in the middle of shopping because you don't have to bother going into a restaurant and it also has food from all different ethnicities so you have a wider selection. They have a nice Japanese Ramen stall...it's pretty expensive ($60 for one bowl) but good food is good food. They also have a GREAT Chinese dessert shop and they sell all sorts of "Tofu Fa". They also have "Mango Pancake" (WHICH IS REALLY REALLY GOOD!!! HIGHLY RECOMMENDED) and "Duran pancake". The pit In is a real great place and really reminds me of those convenient stores you get in Japan (especially "ampm"). They have a nice selection of Japanese candy and drinks along with western candy, drinks and snacks that aren't available in local convenient stores (bottled Starbucks frapps, Manhattan Special). Ben & Jerry's There's a small Ben & Jerry's stall in "Harbour City". Flavours are limited (like the Festival Walk one) but at least WE HAVE BEN AND JERRY'S IN HONG KONG NOW!! You have no idea what it was like when I found a "Ben & Jerry's" in Festival Walk. Yes - happy I was...but it forced me to go to "Festival Walk" more often than I wanted to. Anywhooooooo...my favourite (available flavour) is "phish food". The ice cream cartons are way funki and so are the paper bags (hahaha which I now use to store my Jap mags). 1 scoop is $25, 2 scoops is $50...you do the math...trust Hong Kong to be more expensive...BUT I STILL LOVE IT~!! |
