Village Tours
Located on the eastern slopes of
Mt Rinjani, the small village of Tetebatu is an interesting change to the
beaches and coast of Lombok, with a cooler climate, thick forest ideal for
hiking and some great scenery including stunning views to the sea. A 3day/2
night village tour is the ideal way to explore this fascinating area.
DAY 1
Following pick up from your
Lombok hotel, the airport or harbour, we drive through the capital of Lombok
stopping at Sweta markets, then on to an old Sasak village with mud houses and a
very old culture and finally to the temple Pura Kalasa in Namada, before
reaching Tetebatu in the afternoon. Tetebatu’s main industry is tobacco and in
the afternoon you can hire a cidomo to explore the village or tabacco farms
nearby. Overnight is at Wisma Soedjono an old colonial house converted to a
simple budget hotel with a pool , good restaurant and pretty location.
DAY 2
After breakfast our guide will
lead you on an easy hike through the mahogany forests, Around mid -morning we
reach a small isolated "kampoong" or village where life goes on with
few modern conveniences. Here you can meet with the people and spend some time
to see how they live and getting to know them. Although English is not spoken
much, communicating is part of the fun. For lunch our guide will bring a pre
packed picnic box for you, though the villages will be happy to share some food
with you if your game. After lunch we leave the village and hike back possibly
seeing the black monkeys inhabiting the area, then on to Jukut Waterfall where
you can cool off with a swim at the bottom of the falls if you wish before
returning to our hotel late in the afternoon. Overnight at Wisma Soedjono.
DAY 3
Relax or go exploring again
before transferring back to your hotel or the airport.
NOTE: This tour can be connected
to other modules or can be extended if desired.
Prices start from: US D$ 98 per person share twin basis. Price Includes: Services or our local guide, transport within Lombok, Breakfast in Tetebatu jungle hike and village lunch , 2 nights accommodation in Tetebatu.
