INTERVIEW

EXCLUSIVE:

M.N.: "In July we were in "Star Magazine" with a story about Kelly Ripa (Regis and Kelly) and Madonna making their first television appearance on Dancing on Air.  It's amazing when Madonna came to us she hadn't made a movie.  People didn't really know who she was.  As-a-matter-fact, the story goes... I had to tell Madonna to clean a bathroom at Channel 17 (a Philaldephia television station).  Her girlfriend had written on the wall.  I believe her girlfriend's name was Erika Bell -- Erica had written the words "Tinker Bell" on the wall.  So the station executives were absolutely livid and they said they were not going to let her go on the air.  I had tried so hard to get major record companies, so I told the television exces, I would handle it.  I let Madonna perform while I taped it, then I called her over.
I said, Madonna, we reach about half a million people with this show.  If you want that half million people to see this tape -- there is a cleaning closet with a scrub brush and detergent.  I told her to clean the bathroom.  Now if she hired me to clean her bathroom today... i'd consider it (laugh).  She is a person just like anyone else and you know what -- she did it.  That says a lot about her."

"We were also in the, National Inquirer (Sept. 2002), that article was about Ricki Lake coming to our show to promote her movie, "Hairspray."  We had her sit down with the kids (the dancers) and ask her questions.  At the time she certainly wasn't a big star and she didn't have her own television show.  Guess who was in the audience and asked her a question?  Future talk show queen -- Kelly Ripa.  Kelly was asking Ricki Lake questions and at that moment no one could have ever suspected that either of them would wind up doing  national talk shows."

WHO ELSE BECAME HOT ON MR. NISE'S SPOT?

L.A.: The dancers were somtimes referred to as the "street kids," Why?  And were there any others who made it big besides Madonna and Kelly Ripa?

M.N.: "I called them street kids, not because they lived on the street, but because they were the kind of kids who you wouldn't expect to go on to tremendous academic pursuits.  We figure there are over 500 people who've had a career with us.  It's funny because I didn't know they were on the show, because a lot of them were just starting out.  Paula Abdul, Jermaine Jackson, Vanessa Williams, New Edition, New Kids on the Block, and Lisa Lisa (with the Cult Jam) were on our show.  Will Smith and DJ Jazzy Jeff also made an appearance.  Will actually sat in the room we are in now.

THE CONCLUSION:
M.N.: "My big project was to give my parents the support they deserve.  They were a part of the show -- most people don't realize that.  My parents are together now... they are dancing on air, but they are dancing without me this time.  They took care of me when I couldn't and I wanted to take care of them when they couldn't.
I want our future programming to be hip and entertaining.  Not to be trite, I want the business to last longer than I do, in memory of my parents.  I want to make contributions, teach those how to read through music.  Remember, if you don't have a purpose in life, a purpose to wake up in the morning, to sleep at night, then you're not living.

L.A.:  Thank you for the twenty-two years you have graced the "industry" with.  Happy anniversary!  Thank you Ida and Poppy for having such a genuine, inspiring, and selfless son.

Christina Aguilera, gets down and dirty with the haters on her sophmore album
GENIE IN A BOTTLE
WANTS TO GET DIRTY
Grammy award winner, Christina Aguilera, released her sophomore album, "Stripped," in November.  The first single, "Dirrty," from a highly aniticipated album, features rapper "Redman."  The hip beats, latin flares, and funky concoctions takes "stripped" far from her teen pop flavored, self titled debut album.  The lyrics of the album deal with some serious love, heartbreak, disappointments, survival, and overcoming negative people.  Lil' Kim also makes a guest appearance on the album in song, "Can't hold me down."
Aguilera, holds nothing back in the video for the first track (Dirrty), including sexy outfits, beautiful people and, aqua...lots of it.
