Evanescence, "Fallen" album cover
Evanescence, Delicious Rock Soup
Wind-up records knew they found a diamond in the rough when they signed Amy Lee, Ben Moody, John LeCompt, and Rocky Gray, otherwise known as Evanescnece, a quartet from Little Rock, Arkansas.  This dynamic group is definitely a cut above the rest.  Its no wonder why they're one of the hottest bands of the millennium.  Youth camp buddies, Lee and Moody, first conceived the plethoric rock group.  It wasn't until the late 90's the band became what it is today--on top.  Amy, who is the lead vocalist, has a passionate voice that lives in harmony with each strum of the electrified guitar (Moody and LeCompt).  Gray is beyond a doubt, a genius on the drums--each beat reverbrates in the listeners head long after each song has ended.
"Going Under" (track 1), is laced with methodic lyrics and rhapsodized instrumentals, which leaves the listener mesmerized and wanting more.  One of the smokiest tracks, "My Immortal" (4, produced by Moody), unquestionably fills that crave.  The track is redolent of modern classical music meeting the harmonious vocals of Lee. "Whisper" (track 11), is anything but from Lee, Moody and LeCompt.  The Listener will find more sultry lyrics from Lee, with a choir providing background vocals to boot.  Gray, successfully fills the energetic track with lots of heavy cords.  Whether it's a choir singing vocals or tunes from any one of Beethoven's symphonies, "Fallen" is for every rock enthusiast and the like.
