TEACHING EXPERIENCE
Patricia Lockery ... Performer / Choreographer and Theatre Dance Instructor, has been teaching for over fifteen years. Her N.Y.C. teaching credits include: The American Dance Machine and Steps Studio. Also, Master Classes throughout the U.S.A., and assistant to her sister, Lesley J. Lockery
DEFINITION OF STYLE
- Preservation and instruction of the choreographic styles of the American Musical Theatre and Movie Musicals
- A unique combination of dance elements that form the backbone of Theatre Dance, such as: The Vaudeville era, Latin, and styles of the 20's, 30's, 40's, etc.
- Keeping alive the notable styles of some of our great choreographers, such as: JACK COLE, JEROME ROBBINS, BOB FOSSE, PETER GENNARO, etc.
APPROACH TO CLASS
- Short warmup / emphasis on isolations of the entire body.
- Center / Across the floor work depicting various decade / period movements.
- Combinations done to traditional music from Broadway and Movie Musicals
