| This page is brought to you by Darnell Kemp & Liisa Potts, founding members of the MOCKINGBIRD EDUCATION GROUP. Ms. Kemp & Ms. Potts were colleagues at Pacifica High School in Garden Grove USD, California. Today, Ms. Kemp teaches at PHS & Rancho Santiago Community College; Ms. Potts teaches Education courses at Green River Community College and works as an education consultant. They are also both Fellows of the South Basin Writing Project and the California Writing Project... as well as the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) and its affiliates (CATE, ICTELA). Ms. Potts is also a Fellow of the Puget Sound Writing Project through the University of Washington. They have provided over 50 professional development inservices to education professionals on local, national, and international stages. They specialize in writing and reading instruction (grades 5 through college) as well as standards-based curriculum development, new teacher support, and anything "cutting edge and cool" that captures the imaginations of students.
