Come
visit us in Florida!
We'll provide beds and food,
one nice eat-out meal, the expenses of one big activity, and all
the beach trips you want.
Why? We can't visit everyone
every year, so we want to provide incentives for you to come enjoy
sunny Florida! All of the pictures here are taken in our city.
Seven Good Reasons to Visit Florida
-
Free room & board.
You stay for free in beautiful (and expensive) Florida.
-
Saves us $. It saves us money and
time to visit you. (Dave's company only gives 2 wks vacation, so we
love it when family and friends come visit us!)
-
Your own bed. We
have a spare queen bed in the guest bedroom, and a guest bath.
-
The beach. We live next to the beach
and the beautiful blue! Swimming, body boarding, snorkeling,
fishing, boating, shell hunting, wahoo!
-
Garden of Eden. There
are beautiful flowers,
exotic fruits, and unusual animals here all year round. See photos on our
Flora and
Fauna pages.
-
No snow. Where you
live, there's cold white stuff.
-
Dave and Liz, of
course!
Things to do

-
West Palm Beach is only
30 minutes south and full of museums, boat tours, expensive shops,
Everglades airboats, zoos, small water parks, and golf heaven.

When
To Visit
Winter: Cool
weather, cool water, more tourists.
Dress for weather between
50's and 70's. It can be brisk, so bring pants, shoes, and
jackets, too. Bring swim stuff if you really want to swim. Winter
is manatee season.
Jan South Florida Fair
Feb Artigras,
Spring Training
Spring & Fall: Warm
weather & water, few tourists. Perfect timing! It's hot enough
to make you want to swim, but not cold.
March Artfest, Turtlefest,
Spring Training
April Riverfest
May Turtletrot, Sunfest,
Spring Fling (cultural)
Fall ProAm surf contest,
hurricanes
Summer: Hot weather,
perfect water, discounts.
We'll do indoor activities
during the midday heat. We've got sunblock, extra hats, and AC. Some
attractions are discounted in the summer. The sea
turtles lay eggs that hatch from May to September.
The serious part of hurricane
season is Aug-Oct. Call before you come. (If a hurricane hits while
you're here (unlikely), so what? We'll survive. You'll live to tell the
tale!)

What
You Don't Have To Bring
Beach towels, sunscreen, flip
flops, hats, bathroom stuff (shampoo, etc.), a hairdryer, an alarm
clock, hangers, etc.
We keep a whole bunch of stuff just for
guests.

Remember, we live at the bottom of Florida--we're closer to the
Keys and the Bahamas than southern U.S. states. Expect:

flights & we'll make sure you get here.

Florida highways

Jupiter, FL

To get to Chasewood Dr.
-
Get off southbound I-95
exit 87B or Florida Turnpike exit (onto eastbound Indiantown Rd.) for Jupiter.
-
Continue east on Indiantown
Rd, towards the ocean.
-
At the 3rd stoplight,
(1/2 mile), turn right
(south) onto Central Boulevard.
-
Take 2nd left
(east) onto Chasewood North. [If you get to a stoplight,
you've gone too far. Flip a u-turn.]
-
We live in the back, in
between north and south Chasewood. So at dead end, turn right
(south) and follow curvy road to building 6499. We're the closest
building to the boat yard.
-
Park anywhere and remind
us to bring the guest parking permit. We live in apartment A.
Neat Florida Facts
-
The Jupiter Lighthouse is
open for tours Sun-Wed.
-
At high tide, the water is shockingly
blue, pretty clear, and pretty warm. Our beach is eroding, so the
beach sand is the course stuff dredged from the bottom of the ocean.
It is a grainy gray, not
soft white.
-
If you order dolphin at a
restaurant, they'll serve you the sport fish, not porpoise the
mammal. (Dolphin is also known as "mahi mahi" in Hawaii.)
-
A mullet is a fish, not a hair-do.
-
Real Key Lime pie is
yellow, not green.
