About this Unit

This unit introduces you to the basic cooncepts of computing. Most of the topics are dealt with in more depth in others units.

If you have taken courses in ICT before, you may find that you already know some of the theory. you are still advised to study this unit carefully, as it does require you to apply your knowlodge in practical context.

As you know your way through, you should be asking some questions about the computer systems in use at your centre, and a discussion with the technical staff would be very beneficial. if you own a computer yourself then you will problably want to experiment with some of its facilities.
