Beatles Career:  The Beatles have amassed 17 UK Number 1 singles and 17 UK Number 1 albums to date.  Ringo didn't feature heavily in The Beatles songwriting process.  He received only partial songwriting credits on some album tracks.  'Octopus's Garden' was his only solo song-writing credit.  He sang on a few songs also 'Yellow Submarine' and 'A Little Help From My Friends' being the most notable.  Ringo built a reputation of being a very consistent and talented percussionist.  He was a very important and vastly underrated member of The Beatles.

Post Beatles Career:  Ringo reached number 2 of the UK Singles chart with 'Back Off Boogaloo' in 1972.  He had 4 UK top 10 hits.  Notably, Ringo reached Number 1 of the US Singles chart on two occasions with 'Photograph' (Oct 1973) and 'You're Sixteen' (Feb 1974).  Not bad for a drummer!  He later appeared as the narrator of children's television program 'Thomas the Tank Engine and Friends'.

Personal Life:  Ringo married Maureen Cox on 11/02/1965.  They had three children together; Zak (born 13/09/1965), Jason (born 19/08/1967) and Lee Parkin (born 11/11/1970). Ringo and Maureen divorced in 1975 but remained friends up until she lost her battle with cancer on 30/12/1994.  In 1977 Ringo began dating actress Barbara Bach, who starred in the Bond movie 'The Spy Who Loved Me'. Barbara and Ringo married on 27/04/1981.  George and Paul were present at the wedding.  Ringo successfully battled alcoholism throughout the 1980's and 1990's.  Barbara and Ringo are still together to this present day.
