Beatles Career:  John co-wrote the majority of Beatle hits with Paul McCartney.  The Beatles have amassed 17 UK Number 1 singles and 17 UK Number 1 albums to date.  John also contributed lead/backing vocals to many Beatle songs.

Post Beatles Career:  John has gained 3 UK Number 1 singles, 8 UK Top Ten hits and over 20 UK top 40 hits, including 'Imagine', 'Jealous Guy' and 'Woman'.  He also amassed 3 US Number 1 hit singles in his tragically short period as a solo artist.  John created groups such as 'The Plastic Ono Band' in which he collaborated with artists such as Eric Clapton and Elton John.

Personal Life: John was married to Cynthia Powell (23/08/62), with whom he had a son; Julian (born 08/04/63).  Six years later John and Cynthia divorced (22/08/68) following John's affair with Yoko Ono.  John and Yoko were married  on 20/03/69 (Yoko's third marriage).  They also had a son together; Sean (born 09/10/75).  John and Yoko stayed together until John's untimely death in 1980.

Death: John was murdered by a deranged "fan", Mark Chapman, on the 8th December 1980.  He was shot five times from close range at 11pm upon arrival at the Dakota (John's house).  He was pronounced dead upon arrival at New York's Roosevelt hospital.  REST IN PEACE JOHN LENNON - we will never know what could have been.
