LODGING ASSISTANCE PROJECT
USCChES Manila Chapter

OBJECTIVE: To provide lodging assistance to newly graduate USCChES members who have immediate prospects for employment in the Metro Manila area.

SCOPE OF ASSISTANCE: Free Lodging for One (1) Month

MEMBER REQUIREMENTS:

1. Recipient must provide proof/certification of USCChES membership and commitment duly endorsed and signed by the current President or any Officers of the Cebu-based USCChES (Mother Unit).

2. Recipient must have done preliminary application activities and/or contacts with the prospective companies. Proof of these is necessary, e.g., telegrams, letters, etc. from the prospect companies.

3. If item 2 is not available, a commitment letter to complete application activities within one month should be made. Lodging assistance shall terminate upon the 30th day, with or without success in the job application. The host may waive this rule and extend the assistance if he deems appropriate/necessary.

4. Recipient must provide a list of personal references and contact persons in case of emergency.

TERMS AND CONDITIONS:

Note: Applicants should be briefed on the rationale and terms and conditions of this assistance by any of the current Cebu-based Officers.

1. The recipient shall shoulder all expenses incidental in coming to Manila and host residence.

2. The recipient shall provide his/her own personal needs such as toothbrush, toothpaste, soaps, shampoos, personal effects and other toiletries.


3. The recipient has to follow the ground rules of the host family including curfew hours, visiting hours, etc.

4. Use of telephones and other telecommunications must be limited to Metro Manila only. Long distance calls are strongly discouraged.

5. Working on the application is expected. The recipient is expected to inform the host regarding his/her destination and contact numbers, before leaving the house.

6. Drinking alcoholic beverages is prohibited unless invited by the host to a special occasion in the house. Returning to the host house drunk or under the influence of alcohol is strictly prohibited and is a ground for termination of assistance.

7. Use of drugs other than prescribed or relieving illness is strictly prohibited and also a ground for termination of assistance.

8. Inviting personal guests to the host house is not allowed unless permitted by the host.

9. Engaging in courtship activities within the host residence is
strictly prohibited.

10. The recipient shall be provided with a room, water and electrical facility and use of designated toilet and bath as a minimum, free of charge.

11. If the recipient intends to stay longer in Manila especially if accepted in the job, he/she should look for a regular house or room for rent or bedspacing one week before the last day of assistance.
