CHILDE: Veni (Tavia-- her first Childe-- was flesh-crafted into an ottoman by the Tzimisce Koban, which drove him insane. When Madara finally had him back, she was forced to destroy him to be merciful. Sarad was killed by a flesh-crafted Tzimisce during an ambush.)

APPEARANCE and HISTORY: Madara was ghouled by Giacova when she was age 19, so she never aged up until she was Embraced 10 years later. She would look that age, but her rage and the many years she's been alive have given her a bitter look that makes her appear older. She's also an adept student of flesh-crafting, and has made changes to her face to enhance her beauty many times over. Her physical form has altered some since she was Embraced. She started out being the exact same size as Giacova-- about 5'4" with a curvy figure-- because her role was to take Giacova's place in fittings during the day when Giacova was resting. Now with her flesh-crafting skills she's moved her curvy areas around a bit, and appears as a lean fighter with an athletic build. Just having learned how to mold bone, she's also made herself grow about 3 inches taller.

She has long golden-blonde hair and light brown eyes, but she's always admired Giacova's violet eyes and has recently taken to changing her own eye color to that same violet hue. As a mortal and a ghoul, she was very much of Toreador stock-- her life evolved around fashion, beauty, art and music, socializing, and parties, and she always dressed in the finest clothing with her hair impeccably styled, and jewels to compliment her beauty. After she was kidnapped and forcibly Embraced into the world of the Tzimisce, she started losing her knack and resources for keeping up her appearance, and eventually became so miserable and depressed that she stopped caring what she looked like-- her hair grew matted and dingy, and her skin became rough and dirty.

Now Madara is amoungst high society once more in a position of great importance. She still values her solitude, fighting skills, and animal companions most, however...diablerizing her former mistress Giacova has not left her unscathed. She now carries soul-shards from Giacova that tend to take Madara over at the most inopportune moments. During these moments, Madara becomes obsessed with fashion, balls, beauty-- all the things Giacova once held dear. Madara has also fell deeply in love with the mysterious unearthly beauty Amalia, and will do anything for her or Prince Reynold.

Madara is Prince Reynold's Scourge. She is constantly sending spies back and forth from Balgarad to Constantinople to monitor what is going on there, and has many men patrolling the surrounding forests who can bring back news in case Myca or any of his Obertus tries to sneak into their lands. She goes to the jailer every night to ask who the new inmates are and inspects them, herself. The head jailer and captain of the guard are her new ghouls. She is very paranoid now, so any Cainite who comes near the city will immediately have her guards on them, bringing them to her or the Prince for questioning. She finally brought herself to Embracing first Sarad, and then a couple of years later Veni. Veni is in charge of the border patrol and has a few ghouls of his own who ride with them, and Sarad is in charge of city protection and has some ghouls who work in the jails and as guards. Both childer are, naturally, blood-bound to her.

Madara still believes in the blood-fast-- despite what Myca did to her-- and she, Sarad (now dead), and Veni still hold to many of the Obertus ways. Madara has a special chamber in the catacombs where a cage-- much like the one she spent her first blood-fast in-- is rigged, and her childer help her through her fasts, as she helps them through theirs. She has an additional ghoul who works inside the castle-- Marcel Ghislaine Thibaud-- who writes down everything they say during these fasts.

Madara is very dedicated to protecting Reynold, and takes her job very seriously. It helps to keep her mind off of past events if she stays busy and has a purpose. As for her appearance, she keeps herself immaculately clean and well-groomed-- her hair brushed until it shines and usually held back in a ponytail or braid. She still prefers to wear pant-outfits that the men wear while on duty as it's more practical and easier to stay agile, but they are of the finest leather and materials, and all are embroidered around the lapels, cuffs, and seams with intricate stitching. Her gowns rival those of the living, and Giacova's jewelry collection has had some additions made to it. Madara loves to look at and touch all she has, but she only wears jewels to formal functions. Her ghoul Marcel is also a wonderful party-thrower with perfect fashion-sense, so together they provide the city with its balls and receptions. Madara is breathtaking to look at now, and seems to glow with life again. When she does herself up for balls and such no man can stop looking at her, but she keeps her ghouls and Childer close to her at all times...when she isn't by Amalia's side. Under Madara's facade of beauty and confidence, however, she is still tormented by the shards of Giacova, Gesu, and Soreaxe when she allows her mind some freedom to wander.

RECENT EVENTS: Ten years after Madara realized that Prince Reynold was in love with her...ten years spent serving the Prince as his "Ventrue Childe"...ten years of living with Amalia in complete bliss...Madara found out, by using the power of her blood, that Amalia had not only slept with Katerina and enjoyed every minute, but had "killed" her, hidden the body in a secret room, and then slept with the body that night-- kissing its dead lips passionately. She had also heard Amalia tell Katerina that Madara meant nothing to her, that she only kept Madara around to stroke her ego and serve her, and that the demon Amalia and Katerina both served could have Madara as its servant, as well, if it pleased it.

Madara was with Amalia and the Prince when she found Katerina's body and used her powers on it to read its most-recent memories, and-- not being able to stay in that room any longer-- she fled to a cliff overlooking the city and wept and suffered her pain. It was the Prince who went after her and found her-- Katerina wasn't dead, after all, and had arisen just after the Prince's departure, commanding Amalia to stay and serve her. Madara-- believing that Amalia truly didn't love her and either wanted her as a demon-offering, or wanted to leave her to be with Katerina once she learned the secret of how to raise Katerina from the dead-- was finally able to look at the Prince with new eyes...and to realize that she loved him, as well.

They had not even a full cycle of day and night together before Katerina and Amalia burst into the Prince's chambers to find them together and in the act of love-making. After a tense confrontation, the demon Menthu-- who had been slumbering under the city all along-- finally awoke and entered the chambers through a dimensional gateway. Amalia-- with no Madara to keep her sane and on the Road of Chivalry-- finally gave herself willingly to Menthu, and then went to cut out Madara's tongue as revenge for leaving her. Reynold stood between Amalia and Madara-- ready to kill Amalia if need be-- so Menthu hurled him against a wall where he lay broken and barely conscious, and Amalia was able to complete her task.

Madara sent a message of love and strength to her lover Reynold's mind just before Menthu took her, dragging her back through the dimensional doorway. Reynold heard the message, and through the link, sent back his own message of love, swearing that he would not rest until he found her again and made these creatures pay. Then Madara was gone and Reynold fell into unconsciousness.

Madara is currently being tortured and tormented by Menthu and Katerina in some...place of Menthu's creating. Katerina seeks to crush all hope from Madara by making her believe that Reynold's soul was devoured by Menthu, but Madara is stronger than Katerina ever counted on, and keeps to herself the dream that someday Reynold will find her and take her away from her torments...and kill Menthu and his followers.
