APPEARANCE: Giacova has the aire of a very wealthy, elite woman, and sometimes comes across as arrogant. Her passion is music-- especially vocal music-- but she has the compulsion to feed on priests, so she has to force herself not to go listen to the church choirs she loves so much.

She always dresses in the finest, most-beautiful gowns and fabrics, wearing only the most exquisitely-crafted jewelry custom-made to go with her gowns. She surrounds herself with the finest, most beautiful art and furnishings in her manor. She's of average height-- about 5'4"-- and pleasantly curvacious. She has very long, straight, dark brown hair that she'll wear down, or up in elabortate styles, and her eyes are an unexpected blue-violet. She makes up her face to be as eye-catchingly beautiful as possible-- never content with natural beauty-- although a flash of her unusual eyes is all it takes to lure men to her. Her ghoul-- Madara Voislova-- is her exact size-match, and stands in for all her fittings.

STORY: Giacova grew up the only daughter of wealthy parents. She always loved to sing, and was obsessed with the cathdral choir. Taught by the church that it was a sin for women to sing in the choir, Giacova would sing in the woods, or the house when no one was home, playing her small harp for accompaniment. She was naturally very good-- her voice ethereal and haunting.

One night she broke into the cathedral. After looking around and getting up her courage, she went and stood in the choir area. Thinking she was alone, she began to sing...but she wasn't. The vampire Antoine Bordeaux who poses as a local priest was there. He heard her singing and was so overcome by her voice that he approached her, calming her. He offered to teach her to read words and music every night, and she accepted ecstatically. As the months passes, a bond was formed.

Giacova grew so confident in her abilities that one Sunday she dressed as a boy and snuck into the choir. The other boys didn't recognize who this new boy was-- the boy with the odd-looking hair-- and in the middle of one of the songs, one of the boys tugged on her wig, pulling it off. A gasp rang out through the congregation as her long hair tumbled down-- the loudest coming from her parents. Once the situation was fully understood, the priest pointed at her and announced that she was publicly excommunicated in front of the entire town.

Giacova ran home, but her parents beat her there in their carriage. Unrepairably mortified at having been humiliated in front of the entire town, they knew the only way they could save their reputations and futures would be to disown their daughter. Giacova's world had ended. With no church and no family, she was a dead woman. Her father ordered her out of the house, and she had only enough time to grab her small jeweled dagger from her room before the servants threw her out.

Antoine searched frantically for his protege. He was able to track her progress back to the church from her house. As he drew closer, the scent of her blood grew stronger and stronger until he found her laying behind some bushes. He was relieved when he realized that she was still alive, although time was growing short. He knew she had done this to herself, and in the world of mortals what choice did she have after the community's treatment of her? He cradled her in his arms, and she whispered his name softly. He asked her if she would like him to take her to a place where she would be free to sing in public...far from her town. She smiled slightly and nodded. It was then that he Embraced her, and she began her life as a daughter of Cain. He also officiated over her "funeral" to make certain that everyone in her town believed that she was dead.

He took her back to his home country of France and showed her all the beauty there. In the town Giacova was from, Antoine had been known as a priest and the patron who commissioned and decorated the cathedral and other beautiful buildings there. But in France, Giacova learned that he was a wealthy businessman who controlled the commissioning and decorating of many famous buildings across Europe, and that her hometown had just been one amoung many places he'd graced over the decades. He taught her his trade-- everything from contracting the labor to deciding what materials were to be used. He had traders and merchants far and wide who worked for him. Giacova never quite caught onto the business-end of things, but she had a brilliant eye for color coordination and interior decoration, and had soon taken over that aspect of the business.

She and Antoine both had a affinity for the beauty of cathedrals, and while Antoine was busy posing as priests, Giacova was busy dominating them! She soon realized that along with her new gifts came a weakness for the blood of the clergy-- maybe a form of revenge permanantly engrained in her-- but she soon learned what benefit it could have. Using her Disciplines, she would wait until the bishop, priest, cardinal-- whoever she needed to manipulate-- was kneeling in prayer alone before the giant crucifix over the alter. She would then slowly descend from her hiding place in the rafters, making herself appear to be an angel, and making the victim believe there was no other possibility. She would then give him whatever suggestion she needed to be done-- some she turned into ghouls-- and then feed off of them nightly until the goal she had in mind was accomplished. She never left any marks, and was so skilled in her routine that she was never found out. She called herself the Angel of Death.

As the game began, Giacova and Antoine had taken up residence in Petrin, Transylvania where they were respected by both the living and the undead, living in the rich splendor that only a pair of enterprising Toreador could create. Antoine was back to pretending to be a priest, but all knew that he and Giacova were business partners and that he lived in her large mansion in his own apartments. By the end of the first game they had helped to kill Lucien-- the only Cainite who stood in their way of complete control of the trade routes and contacts between Europe and the Orient-- and had taken over his business and connections.
