Rescued Pets for Adoption
Once LISA rescues an animal from cruelty or neglect, it needs a good home to go to. If you are interested in adopting a rescued animal, please call LISA at (504 )366-8972. One of our adoption co-ordinators will be happy to assist you and a lucky pet in finding each other.
Not all of our animals are featured here. Please call LISA and inquire about the type of pet you're looking for. An adoption co-ordinator may be able to recommend an animal to suit you.
You can also see our pets for adoption at PetShelter.org & Petfinder.com, two excellent searchable databases of animals for adoption and animal shelters.
LISA's policy is to spay/neuter each animal before releasing them to an adoptive home. Potential adopters should be aware that there will be a pre-adoption interview with one of our adoption co-ordinators. This helps us determine if you and the animal would be a good match. Potential adopters are advised to have a veterinarian selected. LISA has a 24 hour waiting period for all adoptions, to allow time to prepare for your new friend. You will be required to sign an adoption contract, promising to properly care for the animal, and if at any time you become unable to do so, to return the animal to LISA. There is a $25 adoption fee to cover our spay/neuter and vaccination expenses.
